Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!
For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

Bard feedback after 4 weekends

I've been playing bard for 4 weekends now and wanted to give my feedback regarding the archetype in current state.
First of I like the change on resonance so instead of focusing just auto attacking and filling you are now encouraged to use your spells as well. At first I had my reservations but after change I enjoy playing way more. Before if I wasn't auto attacking I felt bad.
Gameplay choices over talent choices
Now the meat of playing support or buff oriented class is utilizing your Buffs depending on situation at least in my opinion.
Currently that's not case for Bard. You choose how you are buffing the group and stick to it or spend a lot of talents to be able to do that without being able to offer much more. There are 5 melodies and 6 Sagas that offer different buffs so if you want to have option to utilize all of them that's 11 points out of 25. Solution to this could be combine All sagas to 1 talent or maybe 1 talent on chosen one and 1 talent to pick up others. And same with 5 melodies. This would give us choices in gameplay instead of how we build our talents.
UI
I know UI isn't even near finished but there are couple things that hinder bard specifically.
After change to resonant Weapon as Bard you really want to know your current stacks but most of the time they are hidden behind other buffs on + on your buffbar. With the amount of active buffs and debuffs currently in game this needs to be figured out.
Melodies are buggy and sometimes your character doesn't have ring or has different melody ring around and buff is hidden somewhere in buffbar. When there is cast bar until 20 seconds has past It's allright but that disappears. Maybe utilize that bar to represent your current melody.
Other than buff choices not being made in gameplay and UI tweaks I enjoy Bard in this iteration and look forward how the class gets developed further.
Bugs
Some bugs that I've encountered which I'd consider bad for current gameplay
- Melodies disappearing randomly or if you press Esc at anytime.
- Abilities such as Discordance jumping through walls.
- The Apocalypse Saga dealing damage to anything above or bellow. Sometimes not dealing any damage at all
