Intrepid timeframes/ open dialogue.

Intrepid? How do you approach your process in deciding timeframes?

It seems you get to the day of testing and you go.... sorry guys there is a bug, wait 3-5 hours,
Once in a while is understandable but this seems to be a more common issue than it should?

Does intrepid not see these issues on a thursday and know it is going to be delayed?
People take days off from work with the excitment to be apart of the testing process. But again and again they learn they might of well just went in for their shift, because by the time it comes online their shift would have almost been completed.

Can this please be mentioned on thursdays so people can adjust their time off, cancel it, etc? This has burned me 3 times now.

    Welcome to as true alpha.

Why do people take time off to Alpha test a game?
Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.

Why do people take time off to Alpha test a game?

Why does intrepid think they are going to have players to actually test their game if it is closed?
They want the numbers to test... give timelines... and then repeatively create scenerios that it is wasting people's time, that could be reporting more bugs and be involved in the process.

People are not going to be recommended to purchase keys, if they won't even be able to log on the days that is claimed to be open...

This hurts money coming in... this hurts content being shared on streams... creates random confusion for people excited to jump in when they paid to take part in the process. Like what a waste of money for people buying keys and can't even log in on the small windows even open. Can't really call things a "test" if people can't access the product.

When building large complex systems, sometimes things happen that are unexpected. When this happens developers have to make a choice. Push the product out knowing it is broken and unusable OR hold it back for a time to make it right.

Would you have been ok with them keeping to the 10am time frame if there was a major bug that caused a big concern for most testers? Something game breaking?(we don't know what it was yet if they even want to tell us)

There was one time someone left a semicolon out of a line of code and it broke everything. They had to go through everything line by line till they found it.

These things happen. We all make mistakes.

Best advice. Roll with it. Go do something constructive with the next few hours.

I considered using some PTO to get into the game early today. In fact, I’ve thought about it every week, but I always talk myself out of it.

Alphas just aren’t reliable enough for me to adjust my real-world schedule.

If they announce extra time next week, like Thursday through Sunday, I’ll take Friday off—not just to play the game, but also to enjoy a nice long weekend.

This is my personal feedback, shared to help the game thrive in its niche.

Yeah, it is a test. An Alpha Test.

You’re not playing a finished product … and there will be downtimes and character wipes.

Paid access for Alpha-2 means you support the devs’ vision of the game and want to help squash bugs and submit feedback.

Paid access for Alpha-2 does not entitle you to tell the devs what times the servers can be open and when fixes can be applied.
