@Alpha Two We need a little more time today to get everything ready for Alpha Two weekend testing.

We currently plan to have Alpha Two realms open by Friday, November 22, 2024 6:00 PM <- Discord should show this in your local time

Development is a moving train, and sometimes we hit bumps along the way. We're grateful for everyone's patience and flexibility, and we'll keep you all up-to-date here in Discord as there's more information to share.

For additional context, in our overnight QA we discovered a critical bug causing our event service to crash. We are deploying a fix now and will be considering an extension into Monday if weekend testing goes well.

@Ashtorian sorry that some people in these forums seem to have lost any form of societal decorum.

The direct information sources for the most up-to-date information, at this time, appears to be X and #alpha-two-news section of their discord.

I hope this message finds you well and hope to see you online in 3 hours, servers willing!

Sooo because I don't have X or Discord I get left out of the information loop.

It would be nice to use the official website for a good source of updated information.

A website with update to date information is something I looking for in an MMO experience.

If you make me go to another website (X, Discord, Instragram, ect.ect) for information, I just end up going to another game. If I can't trust the official forum, then I don't trust the company.

Edit: those statements might come off as harsh.
I meant what I said with the upmost respect in offering constructive criticism of their flow of information, as someone whom is excited to see this project succeed.

Honestly nowadays not being in a game's main discord server or following their twitter (or bluesky soon, probably) is just doing yourself a disservice. I agree they should be more vocal about announcing things on more traditional places like their website, but the way of the future is discord and twitter/bluesky

    Yes.
They often use the stage and talk to the community as a whole through the voice there. Don't know what it would take to do that here.

Using Twitter/Blue Sky/Instagram/Yelp or whatever other means to communicate this kind of info is fine as a supplement to your official website, but it is in no way acceptable to be the primary or only source of said info. Server status info should have a dedicated spot on the main web page that is directly accessible to everyone without having to go through a 3rd party. In fact, it should also be front and center in the launcher itself.

That being said, this game is in ALPHA. I wouldn't imagine a server status page to be a top priority for servers that are planned to be down for days at a time.

But at the least info like this needs to be given to us in an official forum post.

Now people get to wait until 7:00pm... if they are lucky

Maybe even a personal phone call from Steven to let you know what's going on?

Why waste resources on a server up or down page? Long term won't matter and is just wasted resources at this time.

How hard or easy is it to build voice functionality into the main page? Or should they leverage these functions from a program that is already built and in wide use to communicate with the community?
