All the early armor-crafting requires it. Yours truly found some after about 50 minutes of looking - but then spent another hour and found NONE. Other players seem to report the same predicament.

NEED MOAR ZINC!

    The sad thing is you out level zinc's usefulness so fast that the only reason you're looking for it is to level mining...

    But seriously I see 10x the amount of iron and tin than copper or zinc.
