Played a couple classes into the teens and got apprentice on all artisan so here is my feelings.
There is a lot to like and I look forward to long term play. Many of the systems are frustrating because of the bare bones at this phase one of the alpha 2 so there is no complaints yet on them till they are better fleshed out.
But the numbers are too high.
The numbers for character stats jump too much with levels and equipment, comparative to on one side the grind to get them and on the other compared to the value of skillful play.
It feels great to see a monster that took a full party to beat or had to be avoided, now can be soloed but it doesn't when you see other players treat them as a joke and stand taking hits that can kill you in seconds. This makes PvP very easy to be a bully mechanic for those who have had more time in game rather than something you can get near with skills and focus.
It feels great to reach a new teir of a artisan skill but not when you find out it does nothing for you till you grind up three other skills to take advantage of it. (This is mitigated by guild mates who can diversify the skill sets and a good trading system but I mean just the feel of it, but it would also feel better if the weaker half of the new gatherable can be processed and crafted into something on that one lower teir so the skill does more than make stock).
It feels great to get that rare weapon/equipment, till you round a /10 level and the new white is better or at least a viable choice for a handful of silver.
I also worry for grind for the server numbers. When the servers are low pop to timezone (AU player in US early morning) and the player base is leveled higher, there is no one showing up for events. What will that wait like be when there is a MUCH larger world to play in?
Anyway, these are just my personal feelings at this time on the biggest issue I see. I love a lot of the rest of the game, especially the difficulty
I may make another class but really I am just as likely to wait for Phase 2 at this point as the grind is just a little too repeditive.
