Does fuel tier matter?

Possibly dumb question. I tested this in a very limited fashion with what mats I had and didn't see any difference, so I figured I'd ask:

Does choosing a legendary v. common fuel type have any statistical impact on the end result?

    Doesn't seem to, but I haven't done extensive testing. It'd be nice if it had a chance to up-quality your mats to the value of the wood but I haven't noticed it (and when it does happen I can't distinguish it form the quality of my metalsmithing clothes.)

    I see 2 benefits that can be valid:
    - higher rarity gives more fuel.
    - higher rarity reduces the time in job queue.
