Guild VS Guild War

Hey everyone,

I am curious as to why the guild vs guild (gvg) system is the way it is. I have two major complaints about the system:

-It is instant
-It doesn't discriminate against level

The first is the sheer speed at which a guild can set up in the major cities, declare war, and burst down people in the middle of towns.. it is insane! All of the materials lost to this zerg is unfair. There needs to be a count down or some sort of participation agreement so that people aren't taken by surprise and lose their materials.

Lastly, Intrepid has done so much to make the game anti-gank anti-grief in pvp with the corruption system, but the gvg system totally bypasses that. It doesn't matter if youre outside of the warring nodes, anyone can kill any level player. If level 25 players are killing people 5, 10, or 15 levels under them for free... isn't that kinda... lame?

Idk. Just some whining from a lv12 who got one shot while crafting.

intrepid see guild wars as opt in event since u can just leave the guild to avoid it during the war so lowbies can avoid it by dropping tags temporarily.

That being said i also think the instant dec need to change and provide like a 15-20 minute warning for defenders to be prepared atm it favors attackers to much sicne u can drop it insatant kill everyone while there not expecting it.
  • TBH when we take into account that some guilds will be 300 players (with possibility for 1200 with alliances) and other would be 50 players - GVG should not even exist.
The game should focus on Node vs Node. With citizenships and Zones of influence around the nodes.
Even at the moment on a node war the citizenship > guild membership. Meaning that if your guild attacks a node that some of the guild members are citizens at. Those citizens will fight against their own guild.

Also guild members should not be considered as "same faction". Meaning Just because you are in same guild should not make you a friendly target in the open world. The friendly target is for party/raid groups. Everyone outside the group should be threated as enemy.

If anything - a "faction" can be the members of each node vasal system, and not guild mates.
