Annoyed by not enough mobs when you first start to play ...

I have been a tester for AOC for a long time and have logged on and reported many bugs during development and endured the many wipes etc. I've been a fan and follower of AoC for several years.

I have to say I'm really disappointed by this weekend. Every time I log in there are no mobs or very few mobs in that first area where you come down the hill toward Lionhold. Yes I know it's still Alpha, bla bla bla, but this weekends experience seems worse than any of the others. I'm so annoyed with it, that I just log out again. You can't tag a mob.. I'm not going to stand there for half an hour trying to get a couple of mobs. Please have more respect for what our time (player) means to us.

Come on, this is basic stuff, isn't it, having mobs when you first start to play a game?

End Rant ;)

Phase 2 this was really rough. We needed twice the camps we had. Even then I don't think it was enough.

    Leave Lionhold.
Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.

If it’s helpful, I just equipped a sword for action mode, found where a mob continuously spawned and swung until I tapped it. Took an extra 3 min.

Honestly, why even bother staying in Lionshold. Get your mount and get out. The bigger issue is the lack of mobs in the open world in general. In phase 1 it was fine. But, since there’s more players in phase 2. Leveling is a huge pain because and decent grind spot is already taken. We need more mob density in general.

I'm a creature of habit I guess :) In all previous iterations of AOC Alpha's I'd spawn into the world, then get my first level killing mobs, making my way down that hill.

    Agreed!

I know it's testing but respect our "Time" since we are not only paying but doing the QA testing for you.

Places so crammed its hard to find a team. Teams stacking on top of each other trying to see who can out kill steal each other.

If we have enough places to team up. Likely people will do just that over stuck at a small number of events. Lack of camps is training us how you want us to play. This also means people will level without learning their classes. That also means we need tools to find real teams.

Great points above. And who wants to team all the time anyway? A lot of the time it's just not practical or enjoyable to group, as most team play-styles are grind grind grind at great speed, same mobs, over and over (till outlevelled).

Nice. Yeah everyone is different that way. I'm more of a lone wolf, I play a bit, jump in, jump out do to rl stuff etc.

UPDATE: Well I'm pleased to say after their fix today, there were plentiful mobs spawning at a good rate up the top near the spawning area and I was able to get my first couple of levels up there before heading to LH :) PLayed a Dwarf Mage and enjoyed the feel.

Keep up the good work fixing them pesky bugs :-)
