Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

We are in the Alpha Two Phase II testing which will take place 5+ days each week.

Alpha Two testing is scheduled to happen daily until January 13, 2025 at 10PM PT. We will have periods of downtime for hotfixes and daily restarts happening at 2 AM PT for NA realms, and 2 CET for EU realms.

Starting next week, Alpha Two realms are scheduled to be online for 5+ days a week from Thursdays at 10 AM PT to Mondays at 10 PM PT. Alpha Two realms are planned to be down on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and for daily restarts. Alpha Two realms will also be brought down as updates and fixes are ready.

    I started a new character on Vyra a couple days ago. The respawn rate has basically been turned off for my level 7 character. Mobs take so long to respawn at this level that I cant even estimate the respawn time. There is no point in playing/testing anymore as running around for an hour trying to find anything close to my level is pointless because I you do it doesn't respawn. Why Steven, why do this???

    Isn't this just a Server Worker bug of some kind? Did you report it?

    I guess you could also be exaggerating about the respawn time, or talking about too many other players being around, but this definitely sounds like a Server Worker problem, so go report it if you didn't already.

    New player experience does suck. I have been following this game before the Kickstarter and following the updates at about 90% of them. I had to take time to figure things out. This game needs to teach people how to play naturally. Most people don't even know what a node is. Old school EQer here and I know how to find people and teams without group finders. Most people don't. They need to teach players without a pod cast.

    As nanfoodle said, new player experience SUCKS. If I want to create another character, I'll be leveling solo or in a party of 2 or 3 MAXIMUM. Nothing efficient. I'm level 16 fighter and I struggle finding parties because of the restricted level gaps. Can't wait for rogue to be implemented.

    Finding areas to grind is rough for sure. And even if you do, the density and respawn timers are pretty poor. especially as a solo player. BDO did a lot of things wrong, but one thing they did right was making the grind manageable and efficient. This game would do well to take some ideas from that game. Such as improving density in some of the grind spots. Creating actual routes for players to grind and showing mob types, suggested levels etc on the map. As it is now, its very unclear what you are even supposed to do in order to level.

    its a shame leveling is about grinding mobs not doing missions. seems like it should be the other way around. quests are not intuitive at all. takes to much time for very little in return. i farm mobs for xp. its faster and that is sad. also whats up with the no copper. talking to someone they say its a random respawn to prevent resource mapping. so the whole map will eventually only have unwanted resources all over the place. it kind of looks like that right now. well happy new year all.
    not sure i would recommend this game to anyone.
