Farming/Cooking Cost

Just another rant.
Why after spending 2s75c to "raise" a chick and "butcher" a chicken & spending 24c to cook the spice, then have to spend the 27c to craft Chicken Sashimi. People can just buy the Chicken Sashimi from the vendor for the price of putting the final ingreadients together. How the hell is this even remotely feasible? Beef Steak Sandwich 27c from vendor, THE WHEAT SEED is 58c. Cool, I get it, you want an open world full loot pvx game, don't put "artisans" in if there is literally no way sustaining anything. I may not be in the majority here, but I love the "gathering/crafting" side of mmos. But there has to be something better than processing a baby cow "calf" 4 times to get 1 butter. No-one even cares about the food until it helps their professions(T3 foods) I don't have time to run 3 caravans to fund a pure money sink that I actually enjoy doing.
Please work on your artisan balancing.

I agree there is a lot wrong with Farming/Cooking at the moment. Food needs to be removed from the vendors because it distorts the reality of what it takes to actually make it. I also think rations should be a basic recipe for cooks.

Recipes that require farm products can only be made as common unless you get lucky and get a couple uncommon cows/chicken to trigger. Then if you want rare, you'll need the uncommon to upgrade into a rare carcass. This is a lot of RNG for Apprentice cooking. Crafting gear lets you weight the outcome of the craft, but food is considered processing. If you want an uncommon food, you need all items to be uncommon.

I have hit a bit of a disappointing wall and may have to just abandon my plans , I took the route of farming, fishing cooking as my Artisan. I have been taking my time learning the game, so hit the part in farming where made a bunch of rooting balls and seems freeholds are required to really test further, being behind the curve of course these are all long gone , considering if i need to switch to a more standard profession that does not have this strange wall in progression ? I am a happy tester and really enjoying the game but this seems a rather strange limitation to one profession that other do not seem to have, i realise Freeholds are being developed but why have a block to Farming profession in this way ?

How about a mini game, to catch chickens in a town/city you can use for cooking?

missing rabbits or something in openworld, nice to hunt those as well,

Yep. If the artificial price floors don't make sense in conjunction with the economic artisan costs, there is a major design flaw with the economy.
