[Open prompt to all] Your first steps in Verra:

While the canon lore is thin, much is up to interpretation here on what it feels like to step foot in a world teeming with essence and magic for the first time. There is an NPC who mentions it being a bit disorienting, but not much else.

I would love to hear how *you* choose to interpret it for your character. I'm mulling over the idea of putting together a compendium or fan-lore archive of sorts, and would love to include ideas from outside of my own little bubble.

Dizzying, vertigo swells while you re-orient yourself? A brutal arcane headache? Business as usual, though perhaps the air smells a bit funny? Suddenly being awash in an outpouring of faith, a tangible connection to the divines you worshiped in Sanctus?

Or perhaps your character just *really* needed a nap at first.

Amicus forced himself upright on the stones of the ruin, wiping sweat from his brow. Around him, the land stretched wide, impossibly vast. Hills rolled into forests, and rivers carved shimmering lines into the landscape, their waters reflecting colors that seemed just a touch too vivid to be real. The sky was an impossible shade of azure, dotted with clouds that swirled in lazy, mesmerizing patterns. Through a gap in the structure he now found himself in, he could see an impossibly enormous tree on the horizon

He took a tentative few steps forward out of the old ruin, his boots crunching on soil that felt oddly soft yet firm. The act of walking felt heavier here, as if gravity had shifted slightly, though not enough to throw him entirely off balance. He clenched his fists, testing the subtle resistance in his movements.

“It’s strange, isn’t it?” a voice said nearby.

Amicus turned to see one of the scouts—an older man with graying hair and a kind face—standing nearby. The man smiled faintly, his gaze sweeping across the landscape.

“Feels like the world’s trying to remind you it’s alive,” the man continued, tapping his temple. “Takes some getting used to. The air, the light... even the ground. It’s all got essence in it. Makes Sanctus feel like a shadow by comparison, doesn’t it?”

Amicus nodded, though words still felt out of reach. His chest felt tight, his mind racing to keep up with the flood of stimuli.
