What it's like to be on the other end of exploits.

For context, I run a small guild called Heathen Lords with around 30 dedicated members. Recently, a guild named Barcode (formerly Verdant 69) declared war on us. This happened while we were camping raptors to gather some before the larger zergs could take control of them. Barcode/Verdant has a reputation for exploiting mechanics, both on Vyra and previously on Castus, and their actions are making the game nearly unplayable for us.
During the war, they’ve occupied all high-level grinding zones and can kill us in towns without consequence. While we’d normally engage in PvP, they’re all equipped with epic and heroic crafted gear, fully enchanted. They obtained this gear by exploiting the guild war rewards system early on, using those rewards to run caravans non-stop after reaching level 25. They achieved level 25 within the first two days by abusing the Carphin and Gravepeak exploits, then used their resources to buy out the player-run marketplaces.
The war type they declared was a fishing war, a cheaper alternative to standard guild wars, simply to avoid corruption penalties when killing us and looting any raptors we might have had. Fishing wars, as currently implemented, function identically to normal guild wars but at a fraction of the cost, making them an easy tool for abuse.
Barcode is a rebranding of Verdant, likely to cover up their exploitative history. I sincerely hope Intrepid can track this kind of behavior even after guilds disband and rebrand, as leaving it unchecked encourages further abuse and undermines the integrity of the game.
Intrepid please read this and understand what exploiting means to the average player who doesn't engage in exploiting and take appropriate action on their accounts. Exploiters will not stop with a simple slap on the wrist that comes with character deletion and gear deletion. There are numerous ways for them to pass on materials to alts in their guild or lower level crafters that didn't engage in the exploits. This behavior needs to be met with bans or it wont be enough.

Lyneth is infinitely better. I know everyone is hoping that bans fix Vyra, but the culture of that server is already set. Going to be really tough to clean that mess up as certain behaviors have been normalized.
Reading general chat on the official discord for the last couple of weeks, guilds were doing the same exploit (and others) on Lyneth.
Not here to get into a pissing match on which server has more exploiters as I think I would lose if I try to represent Vyra. I am just here to say that exploiters also exist on Lyneth so if your view of a game is based on exploitation during testing, which every alpha and beta I have been involved in has had, perhaps try to change your mindset.
I would suggest focusing on how the devs handle the exploiters in test rather than that exploiters exist as they will exist in every game produced. Centering on how the devs handle exploiters now (regardless of server) might shed some light on how active devs will be handling exploiters at launch which is the most important thing imo.
one of their cleric do 1k dmg hits constantly so there that drops a lvl 25 ranger in about 3 seconds as a cleric after using a single instant cast heal to heal the ranger dmg
Purge them. Give them a warning window when they log on to a purged character (ie lvl 1 with everything wiped) telling them that exploiting and abusing what was gained will not be tolerable and future offenses will be a ban. Simple as.
If you don't treat them with a shotgun they will continue their shenanigans
I look forward to the 2 day rest and you seeing none of us banned because we did no wrong.
Not true,
we crafted a legendary taylor shirt and looks same as others.
So you were verdant during the exploit and a quick change to another guild immediately after? Verdant, the guild where someone posted the screenshot in Discord showing what appeared to be back to back war win trading?
Blown past falling sands…
This is exactly what I said would happen months ago. Along with a bunch of other predictions. If it makes you feel better given thier size they will likely become a victim of a larger guild down the road.
This is hilarious. I was about to try joining Barcode and you've saved me from falling in with an exploit using crowd.
