Charcoal - good fuel, but what else?

I could not find any usage of charcoal, but fuel.
Is there any processing or crafting profession that needs charcoal?

    it used to make steel at journeyman level i beleive steel ingot recipe is iron and charcoal

    Don't confuse Charcoal with Coal ;)

    Steel ingots require Coke. Coke is made from Coal, a mining product that isn't available yet.

    Coal is not the same thing as Charcoal.

    Don't confuse Charcoal with Coal ;)

    Steel ingots require Coke. Coke is made from Coal, a mining product that isn't available yet.

    Coal is not the same thing as Charcoal.

    Honestly it was a bad design decision to have "Coal" and "Charcoal" in the game IMO. It's too confusing. Just have one and assign that one both properties.. or at least name them differently.

    you do know coal and charcoal both exist in the real world and have vastly different properties right? Again in the real world, coal is often used for large industrial processes like power plants and steel manufacturing, while charcoal is primarily used for bar b ques and art.

    Yup, I know it. It's still a decision to put both in game with the same names.
