How to mine copper...

The Dunir have been falsely blamed for the copper shortage and some suggest war... So I share with you now the secrets of the Dunir in hopes of averting this war. I do this at great personal cost, as I will be exiled by my people...

I will also add, some folks are spreading false information around spawn mechanics, they do this to reduce competition...

So here we go, every time you mine something; basalt, granite, copper, rubies, tin, ect it has a chance to spawn as any mining resource. Respawns happen very quickly, less than 15 minutes.

So to find copper stop mindlessly running around and then posting on the sub about the rarity of copper.

Instead anywhere you see basalt/granite, mine it and come back in 10-15 minutes. Keep doing this until it spawns as stuff you cannot mine. The secret is if you mine it, you control the respawn timer...

I dumped all my copper before I posted this. I mean, I'm still a Dunir after all.

You may or may not find this difficult to believe, but - many people are already doing this and still not finding any copper nodes.

I don't find it hard to believe at all and the farther you are from server restart the harder it gets. This is the strategy I use and it's been fairly successful.

But also let's be honest, the current gathering system is a placeholder. It's a functional system put in because the intended system isn't ready for production branch. But we had to have a gathering system for Alpha 2, so they included a very basic cookie cutter system.

So it's a functioning artisan system but it's not a practical system, so any feedback around whether it makes sense isn't really valuable. I'm just trying to provide some advice in a light-hearted way, I don't mean to offend...

Ultimately Intrepid communication around gathering hasn't been great and the idea that players should grind harder or scour the new functional marketplace isn't helpful.

The team just got today back from holidays... pretty sure the are all aware of the situation. Patience... let's see how it evolves in the coming weeks/months

This isn't a complaint, why spend development time on a system that won't exist in 3 months. I just think it would be better to communicate this upfront.

I think a lot of folks assume this system is fairly close to the final gathering system. So they are providing balancing feedback or getting frustrated when it doesn't matter.
