It has been impossible for games to impress me.... Until now.

The 3 standards of MMOs that built my hype for future MMOs all had issues but all had elements of incredible and unforgettable fun. Im going to list them, but remember, they all had flaws too.
Lets begin
TERA: for its beauty in all aspects of the game and overall fun.
Vanguard Saga Of Heroes: for its size and cultural style to each races armor and weapons And most of all, the mounts which included the most incredible flight mechanic Ive ever seen in any MMO ever made. This game has to be my personal favorite.
EverQuest: The game I personally feel kicked off the desire and addiction to never stop playing.
Now, like i said, they all had flaws. For me, TERA lacked depth. It's addiction was the shortest of the 3.
Vanguard had the biggest issues, seriously. The game came out with literally only the starting areas and some early areas populated. it was very empty for being the largest MMO land mass Ive ever played.
EverQuest was not surprisingly the longest game I played and that game was hard and extremely grindy. it had the worst graphics , and longest down times I can remember in any MMO. Which is understandable being one of the first of its kind.
I would have brought up Elder Scrolls Online, which was good at first but slowly fell away from being serious into something else.
But to sum up here, In Ashes Of Creation, I feel the Addiction and Desire to play it like I did for EverQuest, and I enjoy the detail and beauty of the world like TERA, and the Vast open world that feels endless like Vanguard. It's literally all the best parts of those 3 placed into one MMO.
I know, I know, you think i sound like Im saying its perfect, im not. I do have issues with this game, 2 kind of big ones to be honest. And they kind of make me sad. Ill explain.
First is something im sure will unlock or be added later when the game is live, but i can not make a beautiful character at all.
Especially for the Elves. But like I said, being Alpha , Im sure more customization options will be added later im sure.
But, more importantly , my second issue. the Big one. I know Ill never be the king of the hill in this game, most won't, and i get that rewarding the dedicated makes sense and is fair as well. So letting the top player be the only one to ride dragons is fine, if everyone was on them it would kill the rare feel and diminish the impact of seeing one as well.
But flying is a huge part of the future of a really good MMO. Put lesser flyers in the game, like large birds, hawks, eagles, and other fantasy creatures that can fly. Plus you Don't have to take away from the Dragon Riders by adding other flying mounts, just limit them with a Stamina Meter, Range Meter or height meter or combination of a few or all of those. There has to be a way to add lesser flyers without taking away from the super rare dragon riders. A good example is Riders of Icarus, an MMO that did only 1 thing right lol, the flying mechanic.
So to sum up, im still impressed with this game as it stands. it has glitches , as it should being in Alpha, but its coming along nicely. Im feeling the Desire and draw every day. That's a good sign.
