I bought the Ashes of Creations Pre order pack back at december of 2020.
I got a Beta 2 key for my money and trust for the developer team.
And I saw that other people can buy for just a little bit more money not just Beta 1, but even alpha packs.

I dont want the free keys, but I think it would be fair, if those who pre ordered the game, shouldnt buy the whole 100 dollar package just for alpha 3, when they already have the Beta 2 key.

What is your toughts about the handlings of the pre-order players?

You can upgrade if you want access to Alpha 2

I mean, many of us would consider that as being late to the party.

You claim you got a beta key for your money, but that is untrue.

You got cosmetics, game time, game currency and beta access. People buying the current beta access are not getting those cosmetics, game time or currency.

You got a better deal than they did if you factor everything in, and you are able to add what you feel you are missing out on.

You didn't buy a game. You supported an idea. Your support earned you some perks that today people can't get like name reservation. It's now 115'000 backers, it's not our game now. The core game is our promise but it's everyones game now. Everyone's feed back matters but won't always be listened to. As an OG backer, this has been what I have been wanting for.

    Yep.

What is it about pre-order pack players conveniently forgetting about everything that was included?

I do understand people not including the cosmetics, because ostensibly the people complaining about the price others paid for the testing access only care about the access and might have preferred getting the option of getting that back then. Which is why it's common courtesy for offers like these to value non-unique cosmetics as only a small percentage of the backer reward bundle.
However, it's still a little short-sighted, because what they paid for was 1) support for the game, and 2) guaranteed access, as opposed to the offer that later buyers happened to be granted, without knowing ahead of time that they would get that opportunity.

It's like complaining about early access purchases; you knew you were paying extra and why.
Better yet, it's like complaining that a single-player game can be bought for $3, because you paid $60 box price on release 20 years ago...Like, no one forced you, you could have bought Tetris instead of Oblivion.

But ignoring the game time - which was like 6 months and more depending on backer tier, equalling $90+ of value - is pretty ridiculous. You can say that it's not guaranteed value because it might not release or you might not like it enough to care about the game time, but at that point you've just completely missed the point of backing, and should not be allowed access to a bank account.
The only one who can validate you for all the posts you didn't write is you.
