Beginner Crafting Quest

To start, I think there’s a lot of issues with professions that need to be addressed before a quest chain makes sense.

However, I do think this will be need eventually so I wanted to post it.

We need a chain that takes you through all levels of crafting your first real item and then a continual quest that has you both sell an item on the market and buy an item on the market.

I think what you buy and sell should be entirely up the the player, but the selling and buying should be under a “new player” category.

I would have this market by accessible in starting areas (Lions hold/Samara’s Hope) and if you use the market in these areas you only have access to the “new player category”. Nodes could also have this category on top of the usual market system.

I would also regulate how much an item can be sold and bought for to make sure it stays accessible.

This would introduce players to several key components of the game, it would solve the issue of armor being scarce, and it would also make the low tier craftable armor and weapons actually get used instead of just skipped.

Love to hear thoughts on this.

I am another player that got into the Alpha without knowing anything (didn't want to spoil me too much). My comments on the matter:
    1) I think the current tutorial is fine, the basics of processing and gathering. For Crafting, there is no need for it, you can guess how it will go and the beauty of it, is to discover it and its combinations, needs from other professions, etc.
Maybe, It is just missing, fishing and hunting tutorials.

    2) Market (Economy) for low level players. Here I partially agree with you.... currently, the actual system keeps out low level players. This is due to until level 10 you can't become a citizen an participate in the selling in the market (but you can buy).
Also... you can participate in the development of the node without being a citizen (I did my first contribution a level 8).

I wouldn't set up a "NPC Public" market on lionhold because it is against the spirit of the game... I propose, instead, do some changes on the requirements for player to participle stalls/auction houses, i think is doable, easy and would allow low level players to get into the market at any time (right now i am selling materials to the npc vendor...it hurts).
    What do I propose?

Double or Triple the taxes (penalties) on selling for non-citizens in a node.
Simple as that. What do you think?. Think about it @StevenSharif , it really hurts, physically even, to sell mats and glints to the NPC Vendor to get out of poverty.
It will also allow to "flood" the market with tier 1 mats. I am level 9, don't like to rush and I am a player that likes to keep up artisanships and character level at the same pace, kind of =)
