The last weeks I been testing different classes out and see what the game got to offer so far.
Plus….
The game handles it self…not much lag or so.
Areas are nice and detailed enough…taking Alpha 2 I to account.
First few levels good enough to learn the characters a bit.
I like it that not all is explained, and that you need to find out stuff.
Downside….
The loosing loot after you get killed. People all over steal it..and even higher levels seen in lower areas just looting corpses…
Be serious…loosing gear after you die….that so like 1998.
Let us pick up coins after a kill. Now we pick up coins that we have to turn in for cash at a vendor.
Just make mobs drop loot and coins….much easier and more 2025 instead of 2002.
And I warned about this….pvp kills are making people scream in general chat.
There is not much PvP at all so far….and I think that’s bad for a game that tells PvP is a big part, and when it happens all hell breaks out in chats.
When it ends after a while it goes into next level….
Losers start yelling not to group with the people that won…and they return the favor.
I have been in some parties that got real toxic because of this all.
This is the result that we dont pick sides.
AoC placed winners and losers in the same area…same chats…and same Pve content.
They expect players to solve this…..but since 1999 players never did…and will not now.
I am Lvl 15 and no PvP at all.
Hardly any good quests to get between levels 5 and 10. Endless repeating the same quests…I thought new world explained designers that this isn’t the path.
Its a huge nice map….but empty.
Could be because off alpha…but last Sunday also hardly any mobs repopped….so endless empty lands to ride in.
Everyone use swords, bows and shields
Mages do
Healers do
Bards do
I tried counting mages that where actually mages last Saturday….
So dressed like one and used casting.
I walked between levels 1 and 15.
After 2 hours off looking…seen 26 mages….2 did the casting..rest did melee weapons.
Maybe I am getting old…but classes that look, handle and act different is fun…but maybe this is the new time.
