Combat Log, melodies and other HoT effects make the log unreadable

I'm sure other bards have noticed that trying to use the combat log for any sort of analysis is PITA on bard. Melodies such as pensive or cheerful, and few other abilities, especially Heal of Time etc, spam the log with a lot of data you cannot filter out. The option in the Log config which allows you to disable logging heal effects in the log does not seem to work, I don't see a button to save that change, and simply ticking/unticking it does nothing.

Agreed, the combat log is poor in general, but specifically bad on Bards. I also think that what you see in the log isn't the same as what you see from the damage numbers on screen.

I think when there is a flurry of hits such as resonant weapon + wand deadly finisher the stat lines get combined into one number for the damage ticks making things convoluted.

Yeah, few times on bard I was also under impression I was seeing damage done by other group members displayed as mine. It is possible I'm wrong, and it was just a sum of my last burst or something.
