Steven handing out the best mounts in the game on stream feels bad

The santa hats or snail mounts, or cosmetic stuff no1 in their right mind would complain about.
But even in the Alpha, giving the fastest mount in the game to a select few players (a preorder 'cosmetic' mount) as a meme on stream is a bad move.

    This is an alpha and everything will be eventually wiped. I don't see any logical reason to complain about the game director giving out mounts and cosmetic items(has given nothing OP). He isn't just giving them away either, there is something involved with getting something from him. This seems more like a jealous take than an actual complaint.

    He was about to give out a flying mount- he gave out mounts that are 190%+ speed, a faster mount than is available from any other source even at journeyman. IMO It's a bad precedent to set, and it's bad optics.

    Steven way of marketing the game. Business side of the game matters also to you and me as well. Steven also loves interacting with gamers as he is a gamer as well. Be happy the dev team interacts with the players. I miss that from the EQ days. Thrills me to see this.

    He has and continues to market w/ Santa hats and snail mounts.

    Handing out the best items available for funsies is different- even if it's only a few percent or it's only a few mounts that are around. Currently people have to farm and compete for hours just for a small chance at a mount 10-20% slower than the one given out for hide and seek on stream- the station to train them isn't up on either NA server atm.

    Steven can and should interact with the community he's cultivating and have fun. But I do not think he should introduce BIS items or rewards into the ecosystem that provide a tangible advantage because of watching / interacting with his stream. It's a terrible precedent to set, it makes people feel like their earlier efforts are invalidated, and it creates bad incentives to clamor and beg Steven on stream for real advantages.

    Let it go. FOMO is no way to live. So many things we don't have others can. Let Steven do what he does best, sell the game.

    Put timers on the mounts then- let it be cool, let the mount not give a permanent advantage.

    Optics matters, I want this game to succeed same as most ppl in these forums.

    They will disapear when the server is wiped.
