Corruption Idea to stop the safety net of Friends

RumplezRumplez Member, Alpha Two
I know GMSteven said that in the coming weeks they are going to implement functions where players can not unequip gear or trade it to friends when corrupted. But there is still the safety net of their friends killing them twice or w.e and picking up their gear.

Solution:

When the bounty hunter NPC is implemented, the corrupted players gear shouldn't drop. It should duplicated to the bounty hunter to either the contract holder or the person/people killing said corrupted player where they would collect the gear from the vendor. If 1 person kills the corrupted player they get the gear. If multiple people are killing said player, then the gear is then sent to the vendor and a bidding war begins with parties involved with that persons death. Currency used to bid on this is a reputation currency that cannot be traded and is earned by fulfilling contracts or killing corrupted players.

This secures the fate of the corrupted player that they now must either work off the corruption or die. The bidding war would be a good solution because if the person trying to bid against the bounty hunter will typically have lower currency because the hunter does it on the regular while the other person(friend) will most likely not. It also allows the bounty hunter to decide if the gear is worth bidding on.

If the bounty hunter does not want the gear and wins his bid, he can then (maybe just an idea) salvage/scrap the armor/wep and it be converted to 1.5x or 2x the currency spent or that amount can be based on the items rarity.

This is just an idea I had. Love to hear counter arguments or added ideas.

I think would be better if a corrupted player will lose more durability to his gear on death than a normal player.
And if the price to repair that gear will be high enough to prevent corrupted players to accept death easily.

Losing gear gives hostile actions real risk. Money is easy to get. Legendarys epics and rares are not

I strongly disagree with this. Too easily abused and fraught with potential exploits. Also, let's just wait and see how the current system they have planned plays out first.

My answer was mostly to this statement:

"the corrupted players gear shouldn't drop. It should duplicated to the bounty hunter"

And to be honest I didn't understood well the rest of the post. Now I read it again and is a bit more clear, but just a bit.
What happens if the corrupted player has a bounty hunter friend? And that kills him repeatedly until the corruption goes away?
That duplication, how is supposed to work when only one killer is involved?

Then I don't see how you came to the conclusion

"This secures the fate of the corrupted player that they now must either work off the corruption or die. "

Remember that the Alpha just started. As it gets more features, the crafters will make the best gear and that will require epic materials.
The player equipped with epic gear might not want die and have to spend hard to get epic materials to repair that gear.
So balancing should be possible, to favor grinding NPCs over letting a friend kill you.

But yes, please explain that auction part better. That is interesting.
