Serious concerns about loot recovery

I believe the current state of the game makes the risk far greater than the reward when trying to recover your loot from your body.
Questions:
1 - What is the timer on dead bodies? Can it be influenced by anything (e.g. the way in which you died, or your corruption level, etc.?) I believe the timer is too short. Many times I've been in the middle of nowhere and I know that nobody looted me but my body is gone upon arrival.
2 - Does your dead body disappear if you die again while trying to retrieve your loot from it? I've never seen 2 body icons on my map. I've never found my body at a former location.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you die then you lose 25% of your resources and then 25% remains on your body? So you're effectively risking 50% of your remaining resources to regain 25% that you lost. Isn't that punishment enough?
We already have to worry about being looted by other players. Why do we need to worry about a timer? And if we have to worry about our body disappearing if we die again, then we're at risk of compounding our losses significantly.
It defeats the point of playing solo. A solo player might be trying to avoid the risk of being looted by someone...but what's the point if we're too far away from a re-spawn point? At least you have a chance in a trafficked area because you can get to your body in time?
I think what we're going to find, if the game stays the way it is, is that solo players are just not going to try and retrieve their bodies if they died in a far away or dangerous area. The chances of their body being there are low, and why would you risk compounding your losses over and over for something you aren't even sure will be there?
I'm absolutely gutted right now because of this. I spent hours farming Dim Glint and I've lost almost all of it. To be clear - I am all for this design - I like that we're at risk of losing loot - but I just think we should have a reasonable chance at getting it back. A longer timer would be a welcomed change. This way we can take precautions to get to our body and reduce the chance of compounding losses.
Thank you for listening.

The devs don't care about solo players.
Steven doesn't care about solo players.
Solo players that have a problem have to deal with it, or not play the game.
This is coming from a solo player. I've withheld a lot of feedback about this game because, the systems and the wider community have made it clear that solo players are an after thought, and if they need something it will be done only if it benefits guilds as much or more, and if it has no effect on guilds it won't be done until after ever for Guilds has been done.
I don't share the same negative sentiments as the other comment. I'm not for this game capitulating to WoW style fetch/grind/kill quests...they're horrific and destroyed what MMO's used to be in the 90s. I'm all for the vision of this game...100%...I just think we need to be able to get our loot back. Very simple.
Same. I will *literally* forget to loot my own body even after a rez because typically once I get rez'd I need to immediately jump back into the fight to prevent a full wipe, and most of the time by the time mobs are dead my corpse is gone anyway because it's such a short freaking timer. Wiped further than 200 ft away from an emberstone? Nah, no point. The forced PVP flag takes literally what, 30 seconds to wear off? Someone for sure snagged it, and even if they didn't if there's a single mob I need to fight to clear the area? Body despawns.
Also when it's a complete wipe I got no damn clue which body is mine, arg. I mean I get the lore reason why we're piles of ash but damn... I gotta wander around like "is this me? No... Is this me? No... Is this me?"
I'm not opposed to punishing systems, I loved EQ better with its full loot drop and experience loss and deleveling death system, but I'll be honest the 25% non recoverable loss and laughable "consequences" for snagging loot off a body feels like a slap in the face here. The current state of how corpses work needs a LOT of rework to feel like a good system.
Im assuming your referring to my comment. No where did i mention quests or wow nor are they relevant in this discussion.
What I did was assess the games design based on the games systems. Just about every system in the game screws solo players openly while having little to no impact on guilds.
Stating a fact about the game is not negative in any way. It's just stating a fact. If you don't like that fact I'm sorry you dont like it. It has no bearing on it being negative.
