Image from my whole PC. Specs are below.
  • Geforce RTX 2070TI gpu
  • AMD Ryzen 7800 8 core 4.20ghz CPU
  • 32GB ram
  • samsung SSD 990 EVO / Samsung SSD 990 Pro (both 2tb each)

My cpu / ram keep capping out where as of January 10th I was able to play at nearly 60fps and ZERO performance issues.

Right now it does not matter what graphic settings i place the Alpha 2 at - I cannot do anything. It's like a slide-show. Mind you I can run a ton of games that are not in alpha - Starfield ( 100% max graphics ), Dragons Dogma 2 max graphics, WOW with tons of addons etc etc.

Again I am aware AOC is in Alpha, but it's currently unplayable with all my drivers updated as well.

NOTE: I did completely reinstall the Alpha 2 Game client and that did not solve the issue.

my system is running like normally, 22 GB main ram used and 50-60% CPU utilization (GPU at 100% using 12GB or so), system is all AMD on Win10

mine was until the 10th of January. Now I can't run the game at all and it's causing my entire system to muck up.

any advice to this? I'd love to get back to testing once the server goes live or if there's an update that "should" resolve it?

Hi mate, something that did manage to help me a little bit was in the NVIDIA control panel it was not registering AOC as a game so some of the settings were sub optimal, for instance I was capped at 40fps

However I will agree with you, this latest patch has dropped my fps significantly and it's even worse around nodes I also feel like I'm playing a slide show with my entire game freezing feeling like it has to re-download the area every time I enter the server boundary

Thanks for the input I'll give the nvidia work around a shot. I'm not sure if that's really going to solve the overall CPU / RAM usage, but gonna try regardless.

Once the servers come up Thursday I'll also likely do a fresh install again, but we'll see.

sidenote - This is what my PC acts like in the character menu. It doesn't actually freak out until you get into the game. (can't show right now as servers are down, but it does show the character screen at least).

I have assigned certain teams to the development. Engine specialists and hybrid combat specialists. The performance is related to the engine which is still notorious for the power drains. If anyone remembers Forespoken, Ashes is a multiplayer version of the same style rpg. Performance on all platforms was kinked. We will resolve all issues in due time. 🙏
