Loot drop rate

MyrTSLMyrTSL Member, Alpha Two
I have a lvl 12 fighter. I soloed the first 6 levels and grouped the last 6. In all the mobs that were killed I got only 1 brass ring as gear loot. As opposed to the last phase I got a mage to lvl 17, I had plenty of loot. Lots of blues and greens. Has the loot drop rate diminished?

At this rate it is incredibly unreasonable and frustrating. I want to feel like some what rewarded for all the grinding. It really makes you want to stop investing so much time.

I agree loot drop is dismal. I think the idea is to drive trade-skill gear to the top however, that is also horribly hindered by the abysmal resource availability to craft.

This is going to get worse when they eventually add:
    • resource depletion system, triggered by over-farming a specific area
    • if you win a node war as an attacker, then the reward is supposed to include players' resources from the local warehouse

IMO they need mobs to drop good quality crafting supplies you can take to crafters to get better loot. Keep people playing and relying on crafters. Drops for gear should be the secondary reason we in dungeons and raids.

You can buy gear from 3 npc vendors or the market. Also you just need to grind the rigth mobs, then droprate on items are high, both t2 and even t3 drop. T1 drop like trash.

I appreciate what you are saying. It did work for me exactly like that, last phase. I also accumulated good coin. This phase is vastly different and I basically did same strategy. The cost in the market place is astronomical.

The answer is NOT more crafting.
Currently people are already spending hours upon hours upon days trying to get every single thing crafted.
Its the end game and its driving people away as many find it to be.... work. Not playing.

Mob's already drop crafting supplies. emblems, poop, etc.

I don't want them to replace gatherers with mob-farmers though. I don't think they do either.

In this game, you're meant to craft most of your gear - not get it from mob drops. That's why it's so rare.

That makes sense, except I (like many others) have spent hours looking for copper and zinc. The time I invested in crafting I could have been lvl 20. I think the first few tiers of crafting need to be more inviting. After that, if someone likes crafting they will have a general understand of the mechanics and the time required.

What level are you and how much of your own gear have you crafted? Crafting level 20 year is simply not possible at this point with the amount of journeyman benches required, and even apprentice level is an insane grind of resources to get to for armorsmithing.

That's a fair point. But there are also systems and resources not yet implemented into the game, which will change how - access to those crafting tiers - works. I don't think it's a good idea to start changing existing underlying systems to balance things until you've got all of the currently-planned stuff implemented, so we know how it will work in its entirety.
