Oathbear Carcass / trainable vs other apprentice mounts

WE have broken for months high speed croc mounts, we have cat pallas novice cats that are automatic mount trains that are way fast for their artesian level. .....then we have oathbears that are a toss of the coin if are a carcass or a trainable bob/mount.I have had five oathbear carcasses out of six spawns with easily 50 hours+ camping. Even if trainable still a 50% chance to be a beast of burden. Why is this so punishing ?
