If the class system is deep, you could have 7 alts of the same archetype!

I'm not sure why this just occurred to me, but this is actually pretty cool if you REALLY love one certain class.
If you love Rogue you could make 8 "different" characters which all use Rogue as one of the archetypes. That's an extreme example--most likely you'd only do it once or maybe even twice but who knows?

This has some advantages:
1) Your equipment hand-me-downs from your main and other alts could work seamlessly. Depending on build. [May not matter if your guild is generous.]
2) You will know your alt as well as you know your main. Basically.

#1 and #2 can reduce the time to level from 1 to 50, which is always the biggest sticking point with alts. Although likely the biggest reduction will come from twink gear and having a good guild or friend group.

3) Your action bars can be set up 90% the same so you won't have to think in combat about your hotkeys
4) Great if you only like one archetype.
5) Could be the easiest way to make an effective Artisan alt where you don't care about playing them PvX, just getting crafting levels.
Or if you need an extra Gatherer who is hardy enough to gather in all nodes.
6) Might allow you to easily make different versions of the same character: Solo, vs PvP, single-target vs AoE, burst versus DOT, selfish v group (buff/heal) etc

Additional thoughts:
1) The class system may not be that robust at launch. I'm guessing that there won't be that much difference between all 8 varieties. Some interpretations are that the augments may be more light and cosmetic in nature than build-changing.
2) If there's a respec (even if it's hard to obtain it won't be as hard as leveling to 50 again) for your 2nd archetype, then this might be moot; you can just respec if you want to try out a different version.
3) I realize this sounds horribly boring to some altaholics

PS I'm typically an altaholic but I'm guessing that realistically for me, 3 characters is about the limit for Ashes if I want them to be fully geared and leveled. So I'm figuring 2 and then I'll see if #3 is do-able.
I'm not including a generic character whose only job is Processing or Crafting grandmaster who never leaves the work stations. That's much easier.

There is supposed to be a quest related to being able to repick your secondary arch type which will take some time (3 hours I think) and will be repeatable.

Not sure why anyone would want to spend 3200 leveling characters in this game but by all means.
