Trouble loading Ashes

I'm attempting to load into the Lyneth realm after purchasing Ashes. The game would entirely freeze on me, at one point I had to restart my machine, and the most latest attempt of loading I had, it said AoC had an error retrieving the character list and then quit the game.

What could be my issue with this?
