Ashes of Creation – More Fantasy, Please! 🌟✨

Hey fellow AoC enthusiasts!
I’ve been following Ashes of Creation closely, and I must say—the world of Verra looks absolutely stunning! The landscapes, architecture, and environmental details showcase an incredible level of realism and immersion. However, I can’t help but feel that something is missing… a touch of fantasy magic!
Don’t get me wrong—I love the deep lore, the world-building, and the dynamic systems Intrepid is creating. But so far, most of the environments seem to lean heavily into realistic medieval fantasy. I’d love to see more whimsical and magical areas that truly capture the feeling of stepping into an enchanted world.
Imagine zones filled with:
🌿 Mystical forests with glowing trees and flowers that pulse with arcane energy
💧 Magical fountains brimming with shimmering, floating water or cascading light
🧚 Tiny magical creatures like living mushrooms, pixies, treefolk, or even sirens lurking near rivers
🌟 Sparkling lights that dance through the air at night, like in a true fairy-tale land
🏰 Elven cities hidden deep within enchanted groves, or ancient ruins covered in bioluminescent moss
I think some areas of Verra should embrace the atmosphere of a true fantasy wonderland—similar to what we saw in Poeta (Aion), the mystical forests in Guild Wars 2, or the dreamy landscapes of WoW’s Teldrassil or Ardenweald. A place where stepping into it feels like entering a different realm, full of wonder and discovery.
What do you guys think? Would you love to see more fantasy-heavy biomes in Ashes of Creation? What kind of magical elements would you like to see in the world of Verra?
That being said, i think the fighting animations are a bit too much and could be tuned down.
Would love to hear your thoughts 🌿🧚✨

More biomes and weather alone don’t necessarily create a true fantasy feel. That’s why I mentioned (a few) additional elements - an immersive fantasy world needs more than just landscapes; it’s about how everything comes together. I get that we’re in Alpha 2, but since the foundations for the final game are being set now, adding more of that magical fantasy touch early on could make a big difference.
