Need changes to processing - bottlenecking crafting big time!

in Artisanship
Processing is holding up crafting and the general economy significantly. This really needs to be fixed.
As a Journeyman Metalworker I set out to craft a set of Heroic+ Artisan clothing. The requirements for the Journeyman Metalworkers Tool Belt is as follows:
10x Steel Armor Plating
1x Gryphon Leather
1x Spindlehemp bolt
1x Steel Ingot
As a metalworker I obviously set out to tackle the Steel ingot and Steel Armor Plating first. However molten steel requires iron fragment + coke.
Coke requires coal.
Coal is a >3% drop from mining stone, most of which is common, highest I have seen was uncommon.
Because processing materials cannot be mixed I cannot combine common coke with epic iron fragments to make a lesser grade armor plating. I either need to secure epic coal (which practically does not exist) or craft common/uncommon molten steel for the recipe thus significantly dampening the stats of the artisan clothing I want to create.
There is no logical reason why processing requires all the same quality of materials. The same problem occurs in every processing artisan.
Phase II was intended to explore the features and bugs of the economy, but the economy cannot even function with this bottleneck!
