Processing Rarity/Quantity and Epic/Legendary Mats

kerraikerrai Member, Alpha Two
Has anyone noticed that the effectiveness of rarity and quantity rating seems to scale inversely with the quality of the good? When I throw 50 common tin in to cook I’m usually getting back 53-55 tin and usually 3-5 of them are green, sometimes a blue. But I have never seen a proc of any kind on an Epic/Legendary mat and I’ve proc’ed very rarely on Heroic mats. To test whether it was just batch sizing I saved up and did 50 legendary tin fragments and 50 heroic rividium fragments and 25 epic iron. The only proc in everything was 1 epic rividium with no extra quantity, I believe.

Anyone else had a similar experience? Do we have datamined math?

Credits to RedSRichy for this, I asked in Discord about this and he provided the following info:

Hi! I am a bit tired of the game and still disappointed by math I found.
Processing quality and quantity was complicated - as far as I understand we still have non-linear formula, but it was like "guid": "6064631743349325824" for Processing Quantity Chance, and "guid": "6064631743350636551" for Processing Rarity Chance and have the same numbers in curves:

    **Rarity/Quantity Ratings, %**
    *0, 0%
    316, 10%
    700, 20%
    1264, 25%
    1984, 30%
    2893,4. 35%
    3712. 37%
    4448, 39%
    7008. 45%
    8409, 50%*

But in formulas there was a treak, that decreasing this numbers for chances if starting items quality is not Common. For example if we have an Uncommon(based on "guid": "6064631743351619596" and "guid": "6064631743350439942",) it becomes

    *0, 0%
    316, 2.5%
    700, 5%
    1264, 7,5%
    1987, 10%
    2893,4. 1,25%
    ...*

    For Epic it's like
    *0, 0
    316, 0,5%
    700, 0,6%
    1264, 0,7%
    1987, 0,8%
    2893, 0,9%*

And with all information I found - I have 0 idea how we have double upgrades while processing. Mb after first quality upgrade this items get checked 2nd time and we just lucky enough and get 0,25% chance of transformation from Common to Rare, dunno
