DirectX 12 Question

I am trying to launch my game for the first time and keep getting the message that I need to be able to support DirectX 12.
I did the DirectX diag tool to see what I am running and am running 12, what can I do to get the game to run on my PC. Any help would be appreciated.

    Have you tried re-installing it, in case it's got corrupted somehow? You don't want it to drop armour pieces when it dies.
