Smite Cleric vs Heal Cleric.

Perhaps this is going to be shown when we have more advanced archetypes like the Templar. The idea is very simple, the cleric shouldn't just exist to heal others. They should be a major source of damage and a serious threat to life in PVP. We have the beginnings of this with the basic smite skill and some of the DOT effects the cleric can get. I would just like to see a clear way forward where I'm not going to be stuck in the back line.

If anyone has any builds in the current phase I would like to hear them.

    I don't like how one dimensional cleric and few other archetype feel, but this looks like a design intention at this point. Some of this might be balance concerns, but those issues have been addressed through talent trees in other MMOs years ago. I don't think prospective cleric players should be expected to suffer through 25 levels before they open up different cleric based playstyles and gameplay variety.

    Anyway, "apparently" all archetypes are still missing a lot of abilities etc, so it is possible we will see some changes here, and we will be able to build more of a support cleric or damage dealing cleric class in the future.

    Yeah during the latest Cleric stream (but it's an old one by now) they said we would get more offensive abilities between 25 and 50.
