Ranger feedback - generic

This is just to give my feedback on the current state of ranger. I am not going into detail these are just points. These are also my opinion.
1. While leveling and the mid-game, ranger is weaker than other dps classes by a fair margin. Fighter and mage do much more aoe, and have more button presses available to them.
2. Leveling ranger is too mana hungry. The siphon talent in top right helps but that is post 13 and you should put points elsewhere first. It also scales off of dmg, so if you don't do much dps you don't get much value out of it, which you don't.
3. Vine trap lacks clarity when casting. Enemies can't see it ahead of time, theres no realistic dodge window for enemies.
4. Vine trap snare is too strong. The stacking snare from people standing in it. On top of the root? oof.
5. Stamina recovery on dodge from using barrage on an enemy makes it really hard to use in pvp. Usually you are better off not using it at all.
6. Longbow extra 5m AA range is spicy. I don't know if you want to keep this long term, its really weird
7. There is too much tech around arrowstorm. Not going into details on public form. But a green shortbow is better than a legendary longbow for ST dps.
8. Disengage ability - The stoppage at the end of the skill feels really bad. There is tech to skip it but, imo it should be the default to be 'launched' at the end of the mandatory arc.
9. Raining Death - Needs better clarity on what the actual aoe range is.
10. Air strike - The circles are too small. The left and right variance as you turn while using it suck. The cast time. The distance covered. The slide you do at the end. How long you are animation locked. They are all bad. Skill is only used for parkour essentially.
11. Party Stride - applies to everything, except your own mount.
12. Strider and party stride randomly not working to apply when not in a node or in a pvp zone. (yes im flagged and they are in my group)
13. Scatter shot randomly decides I am charging. Even when I don't spec it.
14. Expeditious barrage needs buff.
15. Snipe is good. IDK how i feel about people dodging it.
16. Bear traps are a cool idea. Functionally its instant and the damage doesn't matter though.
17. Lightning reload shouldn't cost mana. Or be much cheaper.
18. Thundering shot is great. If a bit ponderous on its travel time.
19. Call of the wild is good, but CC break should be built in. I would give this talent for 'free'.
20. Thorns are cool but too weak to be of any consideration. Levels don't scale with character power progression as a metric of reflect damage.
21. Regeneration is the same case as thorns. But you are forced to use it on yourself for the siphon talent. Cause nobody synergizes with timing your own marks like yourself. IMO this is supposed to be 'look at me im helping buff the big pumper in our group'. Or 'im helping heal the tank' etc.
22. I can crit cloth users for 4k, and their hp pool is like 4.5k so thats cool, with snipe

Marks, hunts, ammos -
11. Raven mark is cool. Bear mark is neat. Tiger mark is fun but not realistic to ever use. 60s CD kind of blows, esp with shared cd.
12. Bear hunt is useless. Just do more damage. Maybe in a slower TTK meta things change but yeah.
13. Raven adds rating secretly. But Tiger adds as a multiplier. Its weird and should be standardized.
14. Weight armament is only usable during early leveling. You will hit the CC DR's and prevent your mages from applying their freezes and chills. Or prevent yourself from rooting due to the DR categories.
15. Bleed and daze are good choices, but daze being 50% chance is weird.

Hunts, marks, and ammos all need a rework into a different kind of system. Charges, or more AA based, or you rotate between them, idk something. Right now its pick 2 and then you have 7 other talents you don't pick which are dead slots in the talent tree.

Overall ranger is the 'easiest' class to play IMO. You really only have 7 or so offensive buttons you can push, everything else is passive. I don't enjoy going through my 5 different buffs of ammo, hunt, thorns, regeneration, party strider, target mount and cast strider - Every single time I decide to relog. Enjoyable class to have fun on, if feeling slightly stunted mechanically? Being able to strider caravans and mounts is very cool. And your main purpose is to use raining death and vines in raids. I am fine having a more AA heavy gameplay when I can't button mash but there's no real interaction other than AA's giving resets for scatters and barrages. Which works, but yeah? idk. Its probably the best Shotcaller class currently with the CC break its given.

    8- Disengage, i love how it function when ur sprinting and i think this should be carried over to non sprinting too basicly it carries on the momentum when u use it sprinting where non sprinting just stops in mid air which i agree with u feels realy bad, make like hpow sprinting works and it will make the skill feel much better aswell as adding a bit of a skill element to it which ranger are rather strightforward atm so some skill expresion will be nice, (if you know u know).

    19 - Call of the wild issue is in regard to PvP is you get CCed u call of the wild and ur instantly CCed again especialy against say a fighter so regardless of what u do you will be lieing on a ground the entire fight agaist a fighter :P

    i would like to see rangers get a 10m range buff in the skill tree and have less focus on AoE dmg and make ranger more single target picking off important targets where mages lean more into the AoE side so the 2 range dps classes feel different from eachother, scatter shot is fine but i would completly change raining death for example to be a more single target or line dmg instea dof the aoe cone

    I agree with Veeshan that extending the range in the skill tree or just as a level up passive would be fantastic as well as just doubling down on ranger being the ranged single target king of a sniper while leaving the aoe ranged abilities primarily to mage making both classes useful for their own reasons.

    10m Range buff almost seems necessary, the 5m from longbow is paltry and not nearly enough to keep you at a comfortable distance. Almost every class can close the 35m gap within 1 second with a dodge roll and a mobility skill

    not to mention melee classes have so many more gap closers than gap creators rangers get like fighters get like 4 they can use back to back if they wanted too
