Opinion on Driving Caravans from an enjoyment perspective

StrifeCJStrifeCJ Member, Alpha Two
This post is made to compare driving caravans to other games that use similar systems of goods transport and mounting vehicles.

my focus will AoC Caravans vs Last Oasis Walkers, because that to me is one of the most enjoyable driving experience in a pvp game and both systems are used for similar uses; moving goods, hunting/creating pvp events.

Intrepids current implemented caravan system is currently, autowalk and play content on 2nd monitor. i do not find it fun. (yes the system is designed to create risk and pvp events, thats the intended content but it should mean i sit bored with nothing happening.

my problem is the caravan has no dynamic features to it. you direct the horse who gets stuck on the smallest of hills or bumps for no reason and the caravan is dragged along for the ride. its sad the most exciting thing a cravan can do if drift a little to the side on a steep hill.

insert last oasis walkers; they can flip if you for up a hill too steep, they spin out if you turn to sharp and fast, lift off if go too fast over bump or hill, powerslide down hills, torque mechanics that speed up downhill and slow uphill, collisions with trees causes them to bounce and ricochet

I'll insert a youtube link if possible to show a decent example of the dynamic driving on walkers i would love you see implemented into caravans

if link does not work this if the yt watch code
watch?v=B9XX_G2Hg-0

if im way off with this, other people opinions are welcomes on the topic.

vehicles in archeage were like that and while it was annoying at first getting the hang of it to do caravans faster and faster always felt nice

You find running caravans unenjoyable, so you want to make it take longer, by making it flip over or spin out of control?

sure why not , they love realistic dont they then make the caravans move faster and actually feel like they are being pulled by horses not snails and give them physics so doing fast hard turns might flip them over , how to get em back well u got magic in the game making a carriage magically flip isnt hard

Are you suggesting challenge and consequence isn't fun?

@Veeshan Looking forward to it, ive seen the component recipes on codex and they look interesting. i was just hoping for more interactive driving experience then mods for now.

@Noaani i get that the purpose of caravans is not the driving experience, its the mobile event. risk reward etc etc. it is by far the most fun you can have in a caravan. i thought about mentioning it in my first post but just opted out. but i cant see a reason you cant have a more fun experience while driving the caravan also
