Mayor system
Mayor flying mount is to much for the game. I purpose a riding carriage that for mayors that they can use and people can see a mayor on the map that they become killable for the server. Allowing the tyrants that are getting voted in to have what is coming to them instead of them flying around ganking. A mayor having full node control is to much deplomacy for the game. Right now on vyra no one can get journeyman ⛏️ because they destroyed it based on the mayor being mad about not receiving enough taxes. Now i think this type of system would allow for robin hood type people to go in murder the mayor steal his pot of gold and gove to the people. If the flying mounts are a thing then i thing there should be generals of the node that would also get them. Mayors getting flying mounts and being able to be rigged for certain people to get mayor for control destroys the economy.

mayors will be able to start NPC caravans for their nodes though.
another thing to consider is higher lvl nodes cap lower tier nodes progression in its region. it will likely force nodes to focus on tool benches when their higher tier nodes focus on more relevant stuff long term
Hello Nazty, interesting take, I see where you're coming from, especially with your example from Vyra. The flying mount for mayors is supposed to be a rare prestige reward tied to Metropolis stage nodes only, and they’re limited. It’s a very late-game, high-level unlock. That said, I do agree that giving players visible power without meaningful checks and balances (especially when politics and taxes are involved) can lead to abuse or frustration for the broader player base.
Your idea of a “mayor carriage” with visibility on the map and PvP vulnerability is actually kind of cool. It turns the political role into something riskier and more dynamic. It also opens the door for more emergent gameplay, like you said, with "Robin Hood" types going after corrupted leaders.
Maybe a compromise is that mayors with flying mounts become vulnerable to open-world PvP during certain events or under corruption, so it’s not just power without consequence.
Would love to see more systems that reward leadership, but also hold it accountable. Great food for thought!

Maybe we can delete this one and keep the conversation going in the original thread to avoid splitting the discussion.
Thanks!
