Crafting UI/UX is Confusing & Higher Rarity Crafting Feedback
in Artisanship
When you do the introductory quest that gives you the mount and teaches you about crafting, it seems very basic and simple.
However, once you go do the real thing it's much more different.
Let's say you want to craft a higher tier copper mace so you go to the work bench and open the menu, the first things players look for is:
A select down menu to choose the rarity of the material or the weapon itself.
or
An unselected menu which will show the better variant.
However, currently players open the crafting menu by going to the workbench and see no indication whatsoever that they can craft a higher quality item.
It took me over 20-30 hrs of gameplay to learn that we can already craft higher quality items by inserting a higher quality material, which was mentioned randomly by a streamer I was watching.
Since players scan the menu and see that there is no indications that a higher quality item can be crafted, they might assume that they cannot craft it because they haven't learned the recipe yet. Which will not encourage them to click the add material button and see that they can add higher quality materials.
Also it is sometimes very unclear whether the materials are obtained by vendors or through processing. Items gathered by vendors should be clearly labelled as vendor items, while processed items should clearly be under a " processed materiel " tab.
Another " nice to have " would be a "!" icon that would explain how to obtain materials.
Another annoying detail is trying to find a vendor for your profession and having to make a 10 minute run just to grab a vendor item that you never knew you needed because you're just learning about the profession. Would be nice if the vendors were at the cities.
