Persistent Crash After ~3 Minutes In-Game — Shader Loading Hang and High CPU Usage

Hello,

I’ve been experiencing a critical issue for about a week where the game crashes after being logged into my character for roughly 3 minutes. Some nights, the game lasts longer—long enough to join a Steelbloom group—but eventually, even if it’s an hour later, the screen goes black for a few seconds, a loading screen fades in, and then the game exits altogether.

Because of this, I have been running repairs daily. For the last week, running a repair seemed to work and allow me to play for an extended period.

Tonight, the problem seemed worse than ever, and Repair didn't work, so I started troubleshooting. The game is currently unplayable, consistently crashing after about 3 minutes in-game. I noticed that during the last crash, the game starts launching but gets stuck on a black screen during the shader loading phase (CPU spikes to 90-100%). After that, the CPU usage stays very high (~90%), the game doesn’t progress, and ultimately crashes.

Additional details:

- Running the game on the lowest graphic settings.

- Failure ID hash: {c5df09f4-8403-41a0-a3a6-afc858d7cec6}

- Stack trace points to AOCClient_Win64_Shipping.exe and KERNELBASE!RaiseException+0x8a.

- Debugging via WinDbg shows APPLICATION_FAULT_4000_AOCClient-Win64-Shipping.exe!Unknown.

- System specs: Windows 10 (64-bit), Intel Core i9-9900K @ 3.6 GHz, 64 GB RAM.

Currently reinstalling the game to see if that helps. It’s possible that the crashes are being caused by corrupted or incomplete update files, which could have resulted in broken shader or engine data. I will provide an update as soon as I can.

I have yet to see others having similar issues, so I wanted to share all the info in case it helps someone else out there is experiencing it (or for the dev team diagnose this shader-loading hang and crash). Any advice or insights would be appreciated!

Forgot my formatting. Forgive me --

    Description
Game crashes consistently within a few minutes of logging into a character, typically after a brief black screen and loading screen transition.

    Bug Reproduction Steps

    Launch the game.

    Log into any character.

Wait approximately 3 minutes (sometimes longer) while in-game.

Observe a black screen, followed by a loading screen fade-in, and then a full crash to desktop.

    Expected Result
The game should load shaders and enter the playable world without crashing, allowing for normal gameplay.

    Update*

    Post Reinstall--
A little over 10 minutes in, and the game is running well so far with no crashes.

    Update 2*

Bug Report - Actual Result (Updated Post-Reinstall)
After completing a full reinstall of the game, the issue has unfortunately worsened. I’m now able to select my character and load in, but the game crashes within 5 seconds of entering the world — far less time than before. Previously, I could play for a few minutes (sometimes up to an hour) before crashing. Now, it’s effectively immediate.

Despite the game crashing three times today post-reinstall, no crash logs were generated.

I've been playing since the initial launch of Alpha 2. This is the first time the game has truly been unplayable.
