The Game is Forcing My Monitor & PC Into Forced Power Savings Mode

As the title states, AoC for the past 48 hours is now constantly placing my PC/Monitor into a black screen forced power savings mode. I am unable to take any action to wake up the monitor or pc via keyboard or toggle buttons on the monitor itself. I have to do a hard restart of my pc each time and re-log. Over the past two days this is occurring now every 10-15 minutes while in game and I haven't found a pattern to the cause. This used to happen playing AoC less frequently (once a week or so) but now is occurring so frequently that the game is unplayable for me.

Steps I've taken to attempt to resolve the issue (unresolved):
a) I've reduced my screen refresh rate to 59.9 back under the recommended range my monitor supports.
b) I've disabled power savings mode from the monitor itself.
c) I've disabled power savings mode in windows settings as well.

I'm using a Dell AW3420DW ultra-wide monitor. I have ample space on my system available when running the game. This is the only game I've experienced this issue with. I have no issues with my machine other than when I run AoC. I run much more demanding games without issue.

I've been actively playing this phase during 2.5 for AoC and I've only begun encountering this issue during the past 48 hours recently. During prior phases it wasn't a frequent encountered crash/issue I encountered. Now its constant. I don't mind the game crashing, but losing control of my pc and being forced to re-start my machine constantly is a non-starter for me as a player tester.

Update to steps I've taken to attempt to resolve the issue (still unresolved):
    a) I've reduced my screen refresh rate to 59.9 back under the recommended range my monitor supports.
    b) I've disabled power savings mode from the monitor itself.
    c) I've disabled power savings mode in windows settings as well.
    d) 5/19/25 evening I repaired the game files to see if this would solve the issue. It did not, I encountered the same forced power savings mode while playing in windowed mode after 15-20 minutes in game.
    e) today, 5/20/25, I uninstalled the game and installed the game again. Loaded up this morning and went black screen forced power savings mode again after 30 minutes roughly in game.

Note - When my monitor goes into forced power savings mode a pop-up says there has been no signal received from the application I'm running. I play the game with Audio muted. I'm unsure if this is related or not. I play other games with audio muted and don't encounter this issue, but when the servers come up again I plan on restoring audio sound to the game to see if that is the related to the SIGNAL issue for power savings mode I'm encountering. I will report back after I test that.

Other than this I don't know what else to do to resolve this issue of no signal being transmitted from the game client while running to my monitor/pc which forces my system into power savings mode even with that option disabled everywhere on my system and monitor. I'll also try running some audio video from youtube or other app in the background to see if I can run a background application to maintain a signal.

    Another update:

I've updated game audio to be active in game at 50% and played an audio book in background along with discord conversations. AoC since a few days ago still forces my game into Power Savings mode black screen after 10-15 minutes of game time. I have no remedy for this on my end as of yet.

I have the game loaded to my ssd, confirmed on fresh install this morning.

Have you tried boarderless window? For whatever reason fullscreen is kinda freaky for me lol

I'll try that next. Working on ruling out the potential of hardware issue on my end and cable connections. I just finished cleaning out my pc components, checked wiring connections to monitor, pc, internal. And I updated drivers again from manufacturer and firm ware.

I'm about to hop back into game in a bit and test again.

Running tests on my system, my current thought is this is a pc cooling issue related problem with running Ashes atm on my system. On NVIDIA I'm monitoring my GPU temperature and it shows North of 80 degrees Celsius while on the game's character selection screen which is probably going to melt my rig. I'll take a break from the game and look into system cooling options to see if that is the issue. Could very well be.

I have some fans I can install on hand with a guide.

TURN off DLSS completely off in graphics settings. Limit frame rate to 60 in display settings. should Fix. this helped me for now atleast. WE WILL SEE what happens next.

@Lark Wyll This has been an issue for a group of testers for months now (myself included). You can try making a ticket directly to support about it, but most of them time they just tell you share the issue on the forums (and the cycle continues).

Limiting FPS 60 or lower and turning off DLSS sometimes helps extend playtime, but it's just a waiting game unless you're lucky enough that one of the other solutions out there helps you.

Issue resolved: apparently during a patch my settings were updated on frame rate. I placed them back to Low graphics quality and locked 60fps from uncapped and it resolved issue.
