Entity proportion size

Do you guys feel like the sizing of creatures, players, etc. Is off? Like they look as if certain parts of their bodies are too big or too small? The main example i could think of is the giants in the desert. Thoughts?

To me it looks completely fine. I personally don't want oversized everything for no damn reason.

there is a reason every game makes things bigger than they are supposed to be so they dont look weird and out of place like ..well everything in ashes

Perception of weirdness is very subjective. To me, nothing in Ashes is weird (visuals-wise).

Would you say this giants proportions are good ? Particularly the head vs body size stands out most to me. anffeefajqkj.jpg

I don't remember, did they call their race "giants"? Cause we've got stuff like Tumok and I can definitely agree that THAT is a giant. While these bois are just overgrown dudes. Maaybe these are meant to be baby giants, at which point a bigger head would be very logical, cause that's exactly how babies are.

In the title of the video they are referred to as deadly giants so I'd assume they are meant to be interpreted as such. Otherwise that would be very misleading. I would also expect them to have greater muscle mass, generally thicker then they appear. They look almost malnourished.

It's clearly just meant to be a whimsical fantasy race. It's giving Roald Dahl. That's not your style, you like brutish "cool" fantasy. The 3d designer disagrees.
The part I don't understand is why you think you have some objective claim to what constitutes aesthetically interesting proportions.

If you want every entity in the game to be clearly coded as either "macho," "edgy," "beast," or "feminine," I think Black Desert was made for you. Personally, I think that style lacks personality.
The only one who can validate you for all the posts you didn't write is you.

You right, I didn't read the vid's name, cause I hate shorts' layout.

Lol black desert definitely wasn't for me personally. Most of my mmo time was spent in ESO.

Also I don't believe i ever made an objective claim about how something should look. If it came off that way then my apologies. Just my own opinion on the matter. Since they request feedback it would be foolish not to provide it.

Steven made everything aside from himself bigger in the Game - so that he doesn't scare People with his mighty-huge C ... ... ... haracter.

    Jokes aside.
Sometimes the "Hit-Boxes" felt a bit weird when i was fighting the Goblins in the VEEERY early, first Days of Phase 1. But i think that was probably everything just being a bit laggy.

I think People complained about something similar with huge Mobs like the Giants, though. But not everyone has this Problem ? Could it be Connection/Lag once again ?

The body proportions in Ashes of Creation feel really off. Characters look boxy, like short rectangles with stubby legs, short torsos, and barely any neck. It’s not visually appealing. Most modern games feature more elongated, balanced body types with longer legs and torsos, which just look better on screen.

Of course a filthy elf would say this...

Boxy and stubby is the way!
