Extreme PvP: Death Note style

Hey carebears and gankbears!

How would you feel about a system where you type someone's name and they instantly die?
I think it is great and it seems fair.

Dying to this could shield you from it for a good amount of hours, maybe 48 hours, and penalties could be very tiny. Maybe each player could use it once in a while with a reasonable cooldown to prevent spamming. You could even hire people to take out targets for you!

Death from this would be instantaneous, maybe you would only be shielded from this by the cooldown, or by being at the sea or if you are fighting a boss.

Maybe this effect could come from an item or from using an altar where you deliver certain materials, etc... just type the guy's name and he dies instantly.

Do you think this is too much?
PvE means: A handful of coins and a bag of boredom.

While I am sure the OP is not serious at all, I can't for the life of me work out what the point of this satirical post is.

No, I think your character should need to be in the general vicinity of the target, on an overpowered DPS class and possibly better geared, to get this effect.

You know, like regular modern MMO PvP.
    Stellar Devotion.

System is flawed, too inconvenient to have to know the name to get an insta-kill. Also should be an eye tracker feature to "look death" upon enemies.

Side-note: Kinda curious now about how one would go about making a game with similar dynamics as the show.

I did it because the threads have been too bland for the past couple of months :#

It would be even funnier if you could hide your name while wearing a face mask

Kind of what you would expect to happen when people stop caring about the game.

I have a better Idea, though. At least i think it is better.

" Somewhere in the World of Verra, there are a few Altars.

~ They are being called the "Altar of Rage" - every single one of them. ~

On this Altar, Players can put in something like Tokens. Like tiny Pieces. Like tiny Remembrances. Something that can even resemble Essence, if you wish to think of it like this.

Gather enough of this Tokens, Remembrances, "Essence of Rage" -> and you can flag and mark a Player.

This Player can be seen on the Minimap AND Worldmap by other Players -> independent from any form of Corruption.

The tiny pieces, tokens, remembrances of Rage - can only be gathered by either being killed by someone else,

or by having to watch as someone loots a Mob that "YOU" attacked first - but you got killed by said Mob - and then someone else loots the killed Mob while You are still a pile of Ash and have not yet respawned by a Port-Stone anywhere in the World. "

( Other ways to programm this could be VERY tricky. x'D )
( Should one be able to gather pieces/tokens of Rage, by witnessing others chop down Trees nearby ? When oneself wants to chop these down but the other Player is faster ? x'D But how should the System ever be able to detect a Players' Intent and Anger if another Player nearby is committing some Activity ? x'D )
( I realise you could never use such a funny System for pretty much most Activity nearby, i think )

~ once you have gathered all the tokens/remembrances of Rage -> the marked Player CAN. BE. KILLED. without anyone else being flagged for Corruption for killing him or her,

EVEN IF the Player marked by Rage is not fighting back at all. But as Rage is a corroding Essence, that slowly destroys the Vessel and Person it is contained in,

the Player - or Players* - involved with the Altar of Rage - SHARE the EXP-Loss of the Player marked by Rage. If it's only One Player -> the Player using the Altar suffers 100% of the EXP Loss same as the Player marked.

If for Example "TEN" Players (<--- Maximum Count/Number) use the Altar of Rage -> then they share the EXP Loss equally so that everyone loses just 10% of the EXP which the Player marked by Rage loses, everytime he or she is killed.

But last but not least -> in the vicious Cycle of Hatred and Violence,
    (lol)

The "NAMES" of the Players who marked the Player to be angrily killed over and over again are also visible on the Worldmap or Minimap -> as Names in brackets " ( ) " next to the Name of the Player. So that Everyone in Verra will know who the hateful(?) People are, who doomed this Soul to Torment.

And the Player marked by Rage,
gathers tokens or remembrances of Rage HIM/HERSELF for this !!!!!! The more People gang up on him or her on the Altar of Rage,

the more "Anti(?)-Rage Tokens/Remembrances" are being bestowed on the Player marked by Rage -> with everytime the Player is killed.

The tormented Player then can use these specific ANTI-Tokens to use the Altar itself -> but WITHOUT sharing any EXP-Loss of when taking Revenge on either one or several Players - and WITHOUT their Name being shown on the Players marked with these Anti-Tokens -> when these Players become flagged/visible on the Minimap and Worldmap itself - as Souls marked by the Altar of Rage.

    Lastly,
" Anti-Tokens " can only be used on Players who used Tokens of Rage first on oneself, to get back at them. Not on innocent Players who never used the Altar to get oneself to be able to get killed and killed over again. "

~ Vengeance is a dish best served cold. And even colder yet -> is the Grave. ~

That kind of thing brings the good conent to any game and it is fun

I would be hard preventing people from exploiting this, let's say you are killing a mob and then I just hit the mob to tag it and then you finish it off then this would generate rage against you.

Personally, I still think the best system would be one that tracks gold loss based on gear damage. For example, if I kill you and your equipment ends up costing 10,000 gold to repair, that amount would be recorded. This way, nodes and guilds could use the system to reward players for killing enemies, since it would show exactly how much gold those enemies are losing and just like that you could pay a % based on that. Then we would have real bounty hunting in AoC

The "Death Note" could work well in sanctioned PvP events. Maybe you’d need to gather certain items and offer them at an altar or to a demon or death deity. Once that’s done, you write in the name of your target, and he dies instantly. It could be a powerful way to eliminate key enemies, like the enemy’s dragon rider, at a crucial moment.

Leaders would be busting their asses to get their troops to take the objectives seriously, and killing people from your own party would be also fine if you feel that they are AFK or griefing the team
