Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Phase III testing has begun! During this phase, our realms will be open every day, and we'll only have downtime for updates and maintenance. We'll keep everyone up-to-date about downtimes in Discord.

If you have Alpha Two, you can download the game launcher here, and we encourage you to join us on our Official Discord Server for the most up to date testing news.

Paywall

Is there a paywall to play this game in alpha stages? Am i missing something here?
Why must a player pay to test your game? How does this make any sense?

Tester* must pay to test the Game. ;)

Actually i think this Investment is simply -> support the Development somewhat financially and "as a Reward" You are allowed to test the Alpha.

Means when You are in Verra -> Please report anything You find weird and where You might think it is a Bug.

If you can buy an Alpha (Phase 3) Key now or not - is not my current Knowledge. But when You can not buy an Alpha Bundle/Key right now, they will open this Possibility most likely later again.

I am in the guildless Guild so to say, lol. But i won't give up. I will find my fitting Guild "one Day".

Why must someone test if they dont want to pay? Its an industry standards now. I have played for well over 100hr and its been worth every penny. My guess there is 1-2 years left of phase 3 and beta. So your getting allot of value and the ability to give feed back to shape the game you want to play.

Of course there is a paywall.

What sense would it make to let people who are not invested in the success of your project clog up the servers?

In ensures that the people in the game world really want to be there.

It makes RMTers and Exploiters have consequences for their actions.

You should want a paywall and you should want it to be as high as people are willing to pay.

I've always wondered what the distinction is between testing a game in development and playing an early access game in development.

RING DING DING DING !!!!! >;-]

And THERE it is!! one of the killer Arguments. The People are supposed to take testing somewhat serious. They might as well give a good bit of Coin if they want to visit Verra so early. >:-]

Early Access means You can financially support the Game already by "visiting Sooner" before Launch and before all Features/Contents of the Game are ready.
But You do not need to "test". ;)

In an early Development Phase however where testing is encouraged and actually asked for -> you shouldn't view the Game as Early Access. Because "if you don't intentionally test it" - you shouldn't complain if Development might take somewhat longer. ;) .

Early Access -> no biggie if you report Bugs or not.
Alpha Development/Testing -> better report Bugs or don't complain when Development takes longer.

At least this is about how i understood it. I heard People were actually not reporting so much Bugs at least in Phase Two. Like -> apparently very many People viewed it as Early Access.

These People shouldn't complain if the Time Period towards Release is a bit longer then. Ashes of Creation is highy ambitious - and i am all down for it. :sunglasses:
