Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Phase III testing has begun! During this phase, our realms will be open every day, and we'll only have downtime for updates and maintenance. We'll keep everyone up-to-date about downtimes in Discord.

If you have Alpha Two, you can download the game launcher here, and we encourage you to join us on our Official Discord Server for the most up to date testing news.

Wanna get the game, but it seems that there is nothing similar to feral druid from WoW...

Other than Shaman, which is healer, there is not a single nature based melee DPS class in a game.
If you ignore shapeshifting, will I be able to build something similar to feral druid? At least mechanics wise?

A game that is based on Pathfinder campaign, doesn't have druid class. Insane.

It's really very sad not to have one or more classes focused on the magical use of nature... the closest we have, and even then it's still far from that, is the archer, and the hope is that with the summoner we can have something close to the much-needed druid.

I read somewhere that druid was planned class, but they scrapped it...

Imo, there are several way to do it:

-As nature based religious augments or something similar. You could even implement shapeshifting augments with something outside of your class choice.

-Adding nature based ranger school of augment would work too.

-Create a new class called shapeshifter. When augmented with other classes you focus on specific shapes (tank augment=Bear, Cleric augment= Treant, Rogue augment=Panther dps, Mage= Owlkin magic dps etc).

Or the opposite, you could infuse yourself with a spirit of animals if you use Shapeshifter as augment. Imagine something like fighter with gameplay of Bear Totem Barbarians from DnD.

This will probably trigger some people, because I am adding stuff on already big pile of player's wishes. Sorry for that...

If I had a nickel every time someone asked for druid class on forums...

Nature-Based Classes in Ashes of Creation

    1. Shaman (Cleric + Summoner)
Spiritual healer with elemental and nature-based summons. Great for support and lore-rich RP.

    2. Beastmaster (Summoner + Ranger)
Wilderness-focused pet class with strong animal companion synergy. Nature-heavy aesthetics.

    3. Song Warden (Bard + Ranger)
Support class with woodsy, elven themes. Buffs and utility with nature flavor.

    4. Warden (Ranger + Cleric)
Hybrid skirmisher with healing and nature augments. Good mix of survivability and DPS.

    5. Wildblade (Fighter + Ranger)
Melee-focused warrior with primal combat style. Nature-infused aggression.

    6. Shadow Guardian (Tank + Ranger)
Defensive tank with stealth and survival instincts. Nature-themed resilience.

Could be that this might come like One or Two Years or above that, after Launch and Release. Important is that People keep being at this Topic and hopefully bring it up from time to time.

why would ashes need to specifically have the druid since it was basedon pathfinder? (i dont think it was, the classes we have are everywhere). doing a quick gogle search, pathfinder has a few dozen classes, plus hundreds of combinations and stuff. cant include everything. why should th druid be included over other classes? why is it more important than other classes?
