Gatherable Ascension and Gathering Rarity Change (Example Copper) Suggestion

First of all, yes, this can coexist with the upcoming gear ascension.

Basically, due to the recent changes to mining, common and uncommon copper have become so abundant that they are now completely worthless in the game. Currently, there is nothing in the game that creates a meaningful sink to remove large amounts of these items. Looking at the marketplace, a stack of 20 common copper now sells for just over 22 silver. Back in Phase Two, you could sell a stack of common copper for 45 silver. The value of common copper and uncommon copper will continue to go down when players eventually level up their crafting.

Gatherable Ascension:

With Gatherable Ascension, you can take a single piece of common copper (or any rarity of copper) along with a Gatherable Ascension Scroll to attempt increasing the copper's rarity.

It will follow similar rules we currently have for enchanting but the item must be completely destroyed when it fails.

This process needs to be extremely cheap to perform. The scroll should be a novice-level item that everyone can craft. Just like enchanting, charms can also be used during the process. This system creates both an item sink and a small gold sink, which benefits the overall economy.

Additionally, if future repair kits (and possibly durability repair kits) require materials of matching rarity for repairs, this system would help create a sustainable item sink for these newly introduced gatherable rarities.

Gathering Rarity Change:

If Gatherable Ascension is introduced, then artisan gather rarity should be tied to the player's Artisan Gathering level. Only players with Artisan Gathering levels should have a direct chance to obtain higher rarity materials, based on their artisan level.

Novice – Common and uncommon
Apprentice – Rare
Journeyman – Heroic
Master – Epic
Grandmaster - Legendary
