Still an Endgame thing...but im getting close to endgame

As I cut snowdrops for my local Joeva mayoral quest, I get a ping that something has sold in my artisan shop....or the game crashed and I have that mail bug one of the two.

Hello all! welcome to another edition of what is Kala complaining about today, the only show that the more you dismiss me the louder I get, it's a Gen-X/Boomer thing in me I guess.

Now normally this is where I type alot about how as a fisher/farmer/cook I cant do what makes me happy....but I kinda...well in my last post, stopped caring about it. Cooking/Farming has gotten so much into a gold sink I've given up "testing" it until well, endgame gold comes to me like rain...but Fishing...did something, Yes I am excited to see the new fishing thing but something happened....one of my Heroic Bass sold, not just for a gold but for 10 Gold...but then I found out why. The new Grandmaster shop needed Journeyman bow (yea My brain hurts for typing that) apparently needs the Bass Oil to make it...

Now this made me happy for 2 reasons. 1 as a Fisher I can finally sell something to make gold, and 2 as a cook I can also make the thing needed to make gold..now my guild isnt at the level we are making those bows but others are. but something happened the Devs did something I have been asking about for 3 Phases....Make the BIS recipes make sense and need things from other disciplines. Now fishing isn't like Lumberjacking, or Mining, or Herbalism....i can't just roll up on a static spawn and instantly have 3-6 Legendary widgets that sell for 5-10 Gold each (meaning I just made 15-60 Gold in 30 seconds of gathering...no That heroic fish maybe took 4-6 hours of work, non-afk-afk fishing (you actually need to do stuff not to log off, or get knocked into the water by a PVPer or have someone train mobs onto you, or just outright kill you and take your fish)) this made me think of....well something that needs to be fixed before ANY kind of wipe or expansion.

Steven said time and time again "Crafters make the best shit" except because of static node rarity its more "Crafters make the best shit and unless its Lego no one cares" you can see it in the storehouses, what sells for a Gold or more? Epic/Lego things, what can people buy for hundreds of gold? Epic or Lego Weapons/Armor know what is worthless and I never see for sale? anything else. But why is that? well I was looking at the Journeyman cooking recipes and seeing as how Rare Journeyman crafter buffs sell for 10Goldish each seemed like, Hay maybe I can sink some gold into Cooking and get to my normal happy place....and then I updated my spreadsheet.....with vendor ingredients and higher tier recipes needing higher tier (and more expensive) things that went from 1-3 Gold to craft now are in the 6-7Gold range and because of that static rarity thing, the MINIMUM rarity seems to be Rare foods.....well i guess that destroys my "why make a roasted chicken for 2 gold when I can buy it for a few silver" argument cause I cant make common unless I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaly try not to use my banked Lego trees/flowers.

But something happened, I was reminded of my DDO days, and thought of a way to fix Ashes, PVP, Artisanship the whole kit and kobutal, now I wasn't a Casual in DDO...no I was a speed runner, I knew my stats, my characters, I had the guide on the Fastest way to L20 to Reincarnate and knew it by heart, I knew where to go and what to do, which mobs to run past to which door to just kill or outright ignore as we rushed though each quest. the days where the First week of 8 hours a day 7 days a week playing would go First week L10, Second week L15, Third week L18, and of the month L20 Reincarnate. The type of player the Carphen Grinders would want leading the charge. Now I know Steven said things are speed up so this whole 30 Hours to L25 seems....well Kinda fast to me...no you want L25 in 80 hours and that's if you know where to go, what to do, which scrolls to have, which potions to use and the Comp to have, and if you don't have that comp how to change your playstyle to do it LET'SGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Artisanship.
Overall Crafting has gotten better and is moving in the right direction, the problem is it's still the Endgame gold sink. At no Point in the Gathering/Processing/Crafting stage can you self sufficiently pay to level.....unless you are on an ALT or your main is your character, that is Laser focused to do one thing and you have static spawns. you know the Lumberjack/Lumber miller/Carpenter who knows where the 30Lego 20 Epic rotational rarity spots are and hits them daily multiple times a day. the Miner/Stonemason/Jeweler who leveled up to 25 and then went up north to the Anvils. They are fine...I guess again this boils to the Fishing/Farming/Cooking (which doesn't exactly check the same boxes but can kind of be done if you squint hard enough WHICH IS AN IMPROVEMENT FROM PHASE 1 &2 YALL ARE IMPROVING) suffering from the actual Random/Based off of Equipment Rarity that ALL ARTINSHEIP SHOULD HAVE!!! *takes a deep breath* OK fixing it.

Make the Vendor stuff cheaper, but keep that rarity thing ya have going. Make it so that if a Processor/Crafter sells a Common thing to the vendor they make a profit, it doesn't have to be much but if a Novice Animal Husbandry person spends 55 silver per cook then a vendor should buy the cooked bob or mount for 56 silver minimum so the solo person can at least fund their profession at L1-10 and not at L25 with a guild feeding them (because bobs/mounts are selling at a loss at the novice level) the Vendor should buy things that no one wants (again if its not Lego Journeyman its crap) for slightly higher then it takes to make the thing because that way the time we invest in making it isn't wasted.
and please, for the love of the 7....END STATIC RARITY!!!!

PVP
The PVP zones are a nice touch, the trophies are also a nice touch, but they only really make guild stuff...why not have a PVP trophy vendor, this person can sell Recipes that normally people need to at level grind hours for, or for high rarity (because if it's not Lego Journeyman it's crap) materials or vendor ingredients (like Rare water, not the Moonwashed Essence, just plain Water) for a trophy or 2, this would make solo players more wanting to take a risk in PVP areas to kill things they know they can kill for a chance to get that recipe they are looking for. More people in the area make PVPers happy. BUT another thing is PVP needs to be at level, no one likes to be a L10 in a PVP zone with starter gear get 1-2 shotted by a L25 in full rare gear. so maybe.....(if ya do the trophy thing) make it so that to engage in PVP you need to be close (say 5 levels difference) to the person you are PVPing otherwise you could keep the the corruption.
L10 person in PVP zone, goes against a L8-12 character, Normal PVP rules apply
L20 person in PVP zone goes against someone below level 17, normal PVP rules apply with small corruption bonus
L20 Person in PVP zone goes against someone >Level 10, corruption rules apply even if the L9 fights back.
Remember risk vs reward and there is no risk for a Endgame L25 to PVP a L15 or lower under geared (no i dont care how you spin it, yall suck and you know it, go PVP your own kind and get good instead of picking on people under leveled, under skilled and under geared)

Ashes as a whole
Yall are moving in a good direction, but as Steven said there should be a way to level by gathering/crafting/questing and right now, it's good for the people I used to be, someone with a Max rank char fully geared just reincarnating (making an alt) into an Alt they can equip with old gear and go quest/craft quickly to L25 to just reincarnate(alt)
