People are cheating for weeks and months and nothing is happening…Rarity overlay

I just recently joined this game and I enjoy the leveling process so far, but as I have to interact with crafters, the marketplace and the economy in general, I was shocked how broken it is.
I started mining to get some gold and noticed now several times other players zooming by, just picking very specific nodes, going in straight lines on their mount from node to node. Me, going after and picking all the other nodes, ending up with ONLY common and uncommon rocks. Apparently my suspicion turns out to be true, there seems to be some kind of overlay that shows the node rarity and people are making hundreds and thousands of gold with this.

Why it is an Alpha,,, Hoping they keep that sht sever side... or something.... Need to keep other players sever side to or people will just have a overlay that shows you PVP players position..... When every the real pvp hit the sever

This will kill the game. Exploits, RMT, or cheating of any form to a degree that throws the scales of the game off will kill the game. Intrepid's number one enemy right here.

If the material node is known on the client before a player harvests it, then people will find it that reference in the memory, it's just a matter of time. That can be used to build an overlay. Just need to know a little of assembly.

Genuinely can't believe we even got here...

My group will give you a lot of leeway, Intrepid Devs, but if y'all thought this would actually work it's quite bad.

We also can't see a reason why you'd even need to test what would happen unless you're... trying to figure out how to block people who use things like this?

I'm just gonna hope this is the precursor code for 'changing spawn types based on world condition', serving the double purpose of giving someone in the 'Security/Anti-Exploit' team some experience in how these are written.

If so, I believe the response is 'gr8 b8 m8, can rel8', or something.

it's pretty rich for that guy to comment on the cheating situation as far as I remember his guildie, was caught and recorded running a van which was running more crates than technically able...few days after Steven's request NOT to abuse that bug.

Well, I'm too poor to have a gaming rig. Cloud computers or Linux bare metal service is my saviour, lol.
