Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Phase III testing has begun! During this phase, our realms will be open every day, and we'll only have downtime for updates and maintenance. We'll keep everyone up-to-date about downtimes in Discord.

Thank goodness we don't have to craft ammunition, otherwise it would probably be 1 tree to produce 1 arrow.

I know these systems are a work in progress, it's all good. This is just something funny it reminded me of.

    1 tree to produce 1 arrow.
    That's a very positive outlook. It'd be AT LEAST 5 trees per arrow.

    Want one steak? Got to butcher one cow. Want a steak +1? Go butcher ten cows.

    To be fair if a cow produced 500 pounds of meat then we'd have a over supply of meat, there'd have to be a rot system or something. But the idea of 1 for 1 is a joke. Also arrows we're generally made from straight pieces of branches, hardly ever from the trunk. So they'd have to add branches as a material into the game. No need for either. I just pretend all the bows are magical. I remember running back and forth play FFXIV having to restock on arrows mid grind session... I like idea of having arrows, but it doesn't work in mmos like this.

    I think my point is simulating reality too much is bad design and can kill fun, we don't need to worry about brushing our characters teeth. But if you deviate too much from reality it just feel ridiculous.

    The Thornstrike Longbow takes 1050 Ash as just one of its ingredients.

    If you're using only Adult trees, that's 210 entire trees to make just one Longbow.

    There are acceptable deviations from reality, and then there are just inconceivable unbelievable bonkers deviations from reality! :D


    Just wait to see how much the Master and Grandmaster ones will take! :D:D:D

    Oh yeah there's plenty of examples where they are ridiculous. I wasn't going to even attempt that.

    I don't understand why the make tune the dial so high for testing. Those values should controllable by a single dial. A global variable for a weight on how many materials are needed to make something. It should literally just be a slider in the UE5 editor. It would have made more sense to tune it way down so people could get through more testing and people would care less about wipes. This live service obsession they seem to have is really dumb right now.
