Simple suggestion to alleviate travel tedium: auto-pathing feature

Hop on your mount, get on the road, select a settlement on the map, and you will automatically follow the fastest road to that settlement. You can still be attacked (PVE/PVP) as normal, and it would take the same amount of time, but it would massively reduce the tedium of manual travel over long distances.

They're planning on introducing something similar: https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Fast_travel#Public_transportation

Wouldn't be exactly the same, cos you'd probably have to start out at a settlement or happen to come across it as it's en route, but it might be of interest.

I think the mount should just follow the road, if left afk too long it auto paths back to your home settlement or starting camp. No need to select a settlement. It just follows the road your own, only changes when you change it, unless afk too long.

This would simulate a real horses behavior, not be overly complicated, and wouldn't be as much of a tool for bots.

Road needs to be clear of mobs first.

Tbh, even if mobs are there and you have to pay semi-attention, it would still be a massive QoL upgrade IMO
