In one sentence. There is no resource worth risking going corrupted and killing the player over.
Intrepid has said they want people to contest for resources. Have risk vs reward and balancing for that. For all systems.
Low risk/ low reward. High risk / high reward etc…
There is a clear issue when it comes open world resource gathering. Factors to consider:
- killing a noncombatant. Makes you go red. Risking 2-3 pieces of gear to drop.
- No resource is worth 2-3 pieces of gear.
- You don’t know how much the person has of value. So you don’t even know the level of reward.
Those factors and several other then cause that gathering resources has no risk at all or negligible.
The risk of losing something while red is high.
So this is now a low reward/ high risk.
Not balanced. Causing no one to do it really and a system that is free rein from the risk vs reward core principle and has contesting for resources.
