Buying and selling on mmo's is already hard enough. Why are we intentionally making it more difficult? No sorting options, no autofill search bar, search results show only storefronts and not the intended item, no way to search level requirement, no weapon type search options. I'm all about adding to the difficulty in mostly fun and positive ways.
The marketplace being so unintuitive adds nothing to the overall experience of the game. Not a single person benefits from not being able to sort by item type, or sort by lowest price. It just makes the game fundamentally less enjoyable.
I should not have to click through everyone's storefront on the server in order to price check for everything. In the age of Ai and the many online marketplaces, we seem to have devolved several decades in user friendly interfaces.
No matter how old school you want to make the game, having clean, clear, and concise systems for people to interact with will never decrease the value of a game. There's a time and a place for friction in mmo's. The marketplace is already complicated enough without intentionally making it less user-friendly.
