Exp Penalty for PvP??? Say what???

The most ABSURD hairbrained ridiculous asinine **** WTF feature I've ever seen in decades gaming. Turn that garbage OFF or dont even have PvP good Lord! Like leveling needs a slow down, NOT. Lame AF gimme a break.

It depends, how you define PvP

you were protecting your guild town till a siege and you received xp penalty?
you had been protecting your self versus red players till a / caravan trip / gathering session / hunting session / guesting / and received xp penalty?
you had been duelling under the duel system and received xp penalty?
you turned purple and had a fight with another purple player and received xp penalty? (its like 2-3 minutes to leave purple stage right?)
Or you mean turning red (so having greater xp penalty on death) and back-stabbing gatherers, afk fishing players, pve'ing players to steal their loot AKA to skip the repetitive - grindy method of developing your character - as receiving a bunch of gold/silver + materials by PK'ing, so you can even afk lvl up your character by crafting (scrolls + long term crafting sessions) but from the other hand you greatly slowing down the lvl'up of all the players who you PK'ed, since, they respawn far from their goals, they lose some glint/aka gold, they lose some materials and they also losing some xp, since even if you are PK'ed you received all the basic death penalty.
Or you mean receiving PX penalty after being PK'ed and not just losing loot, GOE position, but also XP since you were PK'ed by a team of reds.

It is definitely a complex question due to a sandbox PvP oriented game mechanics. Is the penalty / reward system is as complex and balanced as the "PK" in game act? I do not think so, but so far it seems it is on the right track.

In my personal opinion: its on the right track, but it should receive more hard-core elements as:

gear that can be used just if you are : red/purple or purple/grey or pure red or pure grey
guard towers (static guard towers that are zapping red players /base arrow dmg depends on their lvl / sec till they are in the range of the tower and mobile guards that are crossing the lands inner parts and also on boats) - I see this one that something what could be bypass the need of greater XP penalty for red players.

While that is a good point - > the Reason is that you shall be "AWARE" if not outright scared - in the World of Verra. You are supposed to sharpen your Senses and be alert. You are supposed to take the World around you seriously. ;-)
